Using inexpensive MF Towels Instead Of A Wash Mitt

I hesitated to use the Sam's towels

my simple easy approach: towel 8 sides clean and ready , wash mitt 2 sides..used most of the time
i finish swirl free with sam mf , why not wash with them ... i don`t get it ,if you buy overpriced product dosn`t necessary mean is better.....
yeah may give you a peace of mind , but in reality is the same.

Scott, do you use multiple MF towels when doing a rinseless wash and multiple mitts when washing conventionally?

Yes, probably go through 12-16 towels rinseless.

Two wash mitts for two-bucket. One for above the belt line and one for below.

Foam, Rinse, Foam, Wash (flip wash mitt after each panel, after use have used both sides rinse it, then continue), Rinse, Iron-X, Rinse, Foam, Speedy Prep Towel, Rinse and Dry.

That's my normal wash sequence. Even foaming that much I only go through about 1/2 the bottle of foam.

The MF's I'm using for the car (not wheels or rocker panels) are white, edgeless and 350GSM. I have 30 of them but they are starting to get stained and I wasn't sure if they were still safe to use with the stains on them.

I use CG Mr. Pink for my washes with a regular hose but a firehose type nozzle. I had been using a Meg's MF mitt and once that got dirty I switched to the edgeless 350GSM MF towels.

Maybe I'll just keep doing what I'm doing?

Never used Iron-X, will have to read up on it. I'm assuming that's not for regular washes?

I use 4-8 MF towels for washing, depending on the size of the car and how much dirt is stuck on after a pre-rinse and/or foam. The idea is that once you wipe with one side the microfiber towel, you should probably flip to a different (clean) side. If you're careful, you can also use the same side but with a different "leading" edge to pick up any dirt from a panel. Obviously, once all sides of the towel are dirty, you set it aside (to be washed later), not to be re-used again during the wash.

I'd suggest you use MF towels with a higher GSM and thicker nap, if you're really paranoid. 350 GSM works okay for me, on cars that are lightly dusty. I stick with 600 GSM towels for "normal" washes.
