While visiting my cousin in FL last year he surprised me by giving me a light meter. I thought to myself maybe I can use this when I do headlight restorations. Well I finally remembered to pull it out yesterday when I had some headlights to do.
I've never used one so if you have any ideas please chime in. I'm always willing to learn the correct way to do things. I marked a place on the bumper with blue tape so I could put the meter in approximately the same location for the before and after readings.
On the drivers side (picture) the meter read 1618 lux (I think that is correct). After I completed the polishing and applied sealant I got a reading of 1307 X10 lux. The reading on the passenger side was similar. On this set I used the Detailers Pro Series Headlight Kit but was not impressed. Had to finish with my Griot's 3" DA.
