Using Porter Cable 7424 VS Hand

Do I really need a Porter Cable 7424 when using the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Total Concours? New to the game and really would feel comfortable doing it all by hand, due to the ease of removing the Wolfgang product (So I hear). Please advise.
 
I used the CCS Eurofoam and Polishing Pal products before I purchased a Flex. I still to this day use them when I don't want to use a machine.

That would work if ALL you want to do is spread out a wax to a really nice finish but in my opinion they waste a lot of product.
