Edse30 what other stuff do you have? Maybe we could sample each others stuff?
let me know if you want to try something out. I got plenty of most things.
Thanks man! I'll let you know if I need everything
Man I feel so left out in this conversation now lol. I need to order my things as soon as I get the money for it! Haha
Hey don't worry about it man. Like I said, you're welcome to stop by and play with some of my stuff to get a feel for them before you order.
On a different note, I still think we should meet up one day to get to know each other and exchange tips or whatever. Post when each of you is available and see if we can find a time that works for everyone.
So i'm getting the Griots Garage 6 inch Random Orbital Polisher tomorrow guys! I have a question though, what do you guys use to remove swirls? and do you guys follow up the swirl process with a finer polish or do you guys go straight to lsp?
Depends how bad your swirls are. I like the WG tri to 3 step a carcar. others use M105 and M205. I am getting the CG V36 and 38 to try that out. Got any pictures of your paint? Blacklight also removes small amounts of swirls.
I have the GG DA and its awesome and powerful. You will like it but like others have said, it is recommended to use 5.5" pads. I am new to detailing and using DA's and for my first detail I used M205 with a yellow/orange CCS Lake Country pad. I had very bad swirl marks on my neglected paint from the previous owner. The M205 was a little hard to work with so I recommend using ultimate compound instead. Ultimate compound doesn't dry up as fast and it doesnt dust either. All I used was the combo of M205/M105 and sealant and my car came out looking 200 times better than before.
BTW, I live in Layton.
