UWW+ streaking

Used this stuff today. I mixed as the directions said .5oz of UWW to 22 oz of water (used filtered water) and did a test spot on my bed rail and this stuff streaked like a mofo. I had to go back 3-4x after the initial wipe to get it looking slick. Any suggestions? it was about 90 degrees outside but the truck was in my garage a little humid.

I've never used any QD that streaked this bad.
 
I explain how I use it in my review. I don't encounter streaks ever using it how I do in the video.

Was it a new spray bottle? Possibly leftover residue from previous product mixed in? Ive never had UWW+ streak after using gallons of it. Try a new spray bottle then possibly dilute it more to see if that helps.
 
There are other factors involved here.
I love this stuff.
I've used it a lot and never had a streaking problem on many, many different car, trucks, planes, RV & motorcycles.
 
Same here, I love UWW+ and never ran into a streaking problem.

Something else is happening here. That said, if it is streaking then UWW+ is picking up "something" from the rail or the towels and spreading it across. If the root cause was the product, the streaking would not diminish.
 
Maybe try using distilled water instead of your filtered? It could be possible that the filter did not get some minerals or other "contaminant" that contributed to the streaking.

My guess would be using it on a hot surface, or possibly having too wet of a microfiber......in that case buff quickly with a clean dry microfiber after cleaning.
 
Even though you were working in the garage, were the panels hot/warm to the touch? I've noticed panel temp plays a large role in products' behavior. Also, like Radarryan suggested, make sure you're using distilled water, world of difference, I know.
 
Maybe you towel was contaminated. Were yo using a quality MF that was for certain clean? Perhaps you picked up some protectant from you bed rail also.....


As others have said, I never ever have a streaking problem with it even if do use it in direct sunlight working small areas.
 
I just used some UWW and I got streaking. I think i used too much UWW in the dilution though. I turned off all the garage lights and used a led light and i could see very faint streaks. I used a new MF towel to buff off but it was just pushing it around. Could my towel be contaminated with old wax and not absorbing? The streaking did come off if i used my hand to lightly wipe it away.

1/2 oz to 22oz should be the correct dilution ratio. Why would you use more? How does a new mf towel be contaminated with old wax? Not trying to pick on you, but if you use the right dilution, apply to cool panels and wipe with a clean mf, you should not have any streaking problems.
 
I agree with the others it's a great product. I've mixed it with tap, drinking water and distilled and the results have never varied no streaks.

Look to other causes before a riot breaks out :laughing:.
 
It has been extremely humid in my neck of the woods lately. I have found UWW+ to be very tolerant to this. No streaking to report here either.

No offense taken. I used more because the UWW bottle has a special design to it, so when I poured it in, more from the bottle portion of the bottle poured in :bash:. And new towel as in freshly washed, sorry. I don't have any "brand new" towels at the moment.

Also, it wasnt major streaking or anything. Most flashed away, but you can tell a slight haze under the led in a pitch black room. This was on a Nighthawk black civic

I love UWWP and use it everyday. However, I would not use a waterless wash on a jet black Civic...Honda known for soft paint.
