Vacuum advice

I have the Ridgid 4070 with the detailing kit and love it. The detailing kit comes with a flexible crevice tool that seems to get almost anywhere. It is plenty powerful and with the low center of gravity, I have never pulled it over. I run mine with the filter and the vacuum bags and the inside of it looks new.

Amen my brother. The crevice tool is the King Schiznit! I've got the Ridgid WD1270 and it's a total beast with the detail kit.

Now this one is interesting. I like that it has a 7ft hose, although to use it with the little extractor attachment, I'd have to use a reducer (1 7/8" to 1 1/4", like one in this kit). Not a big deal, though. I also like the size of it. If this one is easy to empty and clean out after an extraction, perhaps I should get it and use it as the ONLY vacuum.

While this feature isn't helpful for the interior of a vehicle, it is a cool feature nonetheless.

They say there is storage for the attachments. How many attachments can you store on this vacuum and where does it hold them?

There no additional space for other attachments, but you can just pop them in an interior detail bag. My existing extraction claw nozzle and crevice tool from mr nozzle fit right in the hose without a reducer. If you have what I have, it will fit.

The cool thing is that with the stock attachment (which is really awesome), you can keep it stored on the hose which connects to the vacuum (like you have in the "dustpan" picture), so you don't have a stupid hose to store.

The existing hose is a "stretchy" type, which may be upgraded to the ridgid orange hose detailing kit with attachments ($40), but that kinda defeats the purpose of the small compactness of this unit.

The ridgid 4050 may be a better option if you don't care about space (only a little bigger), want space to store the attachments (on the back), and want wheels.

But this little 3 gallon unit is perfect for my situation and has just as much power as the ridgid 4050

Thanks for all the good info. I'm definitely going to take a closer look at this model.

I did find something that may be interesting to you. I looked at the instruction manual for this and it supposedly has two accessory hooks on the back of the handle. Check out page 8 of this pdf.
