Vacuums?

I have the Rigid 16 gallon and its great, also bought the orange more sturdy hose with the small adapter that squeals for smaller attachments.

I have a portable shark vaccum for the house and it came with a brush that runs off a belt when you hook it up to the vac the suction makes a little impeller spin and moves the brush. It works great for pet hair. I use it all the time at work on customers cars.

Would u have a link to that attachment that u use for pet hair

I got this one at Home Depot and I love it! RIDGID 14-Gal. 6.0 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vac with Auto Detailing Kit-WD1451 at The Home Depot. It has the standard 2" hose and also comes with the auto kit as a bonus. The auto hose is a smaller diameter (1-1/4" I think) and high quality and the auto attachments work great! It's model WD1451 and it's the same vac as model WD1450 (and same price). It is just bundled with the bonus auto kit.

I also use the portable shark vac on my DD. Works great!

I only use the shark attachment on my Rigid 16-Gallon Shop Vac, Its not so great on the little portable Shark . This is why it stays at the shop, I have to use a lint roller at home for pet hair in the house. lol

I'm looking at the kits online now. I see a micro cleaning kit as well. Do you think the detailing kit would be more useful than the micro cleaning kit

getting the auto detail setup come with a premium hose . it's longer and more flexible than the hose that comes with the vac at 1.875 . it's only 1.25 hose but It fit right into the vac I use . the stock attachments that come with vac will not be usable with the premium hose unless u find some type of adapter , but I only use the attachments that come with the auto kit. that micro kit are some pretty small attachments . I didn't see a use for it .

The Ridged water lift rating is 50". I had to do some searching back when i was looking for an up grade but its on the web some where. Love the way they dont give you the stats on whats important.

That's true no real data. But thanks I looked all over for it. Is 50" strong or about average? Like what would a scale be? Like 25"really small and 100" super strong?

Metro vac and Blo, I had the 5 hp rigid before and thought it was great till I got the metro. Hp don't mean squat when talking vacs, it's all about water lift. The rigid was 50' the metro is 95'. Huge difference. Spend the money, your time saving will more then pay for it. The attachments are awesome but buy the extra one that has the revolving brush, picks up hair like you wouldn't believe.

+1

This is the one I have. Love the way everything hangs on the wall out of the way. Comes with great attachments, but you will want to shell out the extra $25 for the revolving brush. It's a true game changer that makes hair removal a snap. I was concerned about going to a vac with a bag since I do so any cars but let me tell you that I just changed my first bag out after about 30 pretty bad cars. I use the Blo feature to Blow out the interiors before I start, great way to loosen all the debris from under the seats and nooks and crannies.

50" of lift is very common for most shop vacs. My HP60 extractor is 123". This vac is 95". If you are a professional detailer, this is a essential tool. If your a hobbiest, it may be overkill.

I may be slow, but I do poor work.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere but are you concerned with being able to use this vacuum to suck up water? If so the Vac N Blo is not what you want.

I would also recommend you do some reading on a Powr-Flite 51.

they all suck.

:D

PF 51 seems to be the 'underdog' so to speak. Very powerful, very affordable, very reliable.

I contacted RIDGID directly for water lift and noise info for my WD4070.

Noise is somthing else i forgot to mention. It must be the steel canister as opposed to the plasitc housing of the Ridged, but the noise level is soooo much better with the Metro. No problem having a convo right next to it.
