Valid age for being "old school"...

What a bunch of young pups there are here. (I wish I was one)

So, 26 huh? Boy then, I surely qualify at more than twice that (and then some).

Old School? I turned 64 three days ago.......I think I qualify. Agreed?

Now that IS old! Heheheeeee.... he says as his birthday was 3 days ago too, (but a day after yours). Still not caught up with ya' yet though but am REALLY trying.

What day in September? (Mine is the 17th) we are the made on new years babies.lol

Now Sept 17th I can remember... that's the day I got married! (over 35 years ago BTW) :D

My girlfriend was born in September 1987. :)

1987 was the year Metallica's bassist Cliff Burton died. :(
Sept. 12, 1970 here.

I remember the day when they said Cliff Burton died. I think it was an overturned van or bus that landed on Cliff only. It seems to me (but has been argued by many) that was the day that Metallica took a turn and started heading down the road toward "whimpy"... I think there were a few great albums after Cliff's death but I personally feel that they lost their real "Metal Style and Hunger" with the death of Cliff Burton. Just my thoughts on Metallica.

As for old school.... Being "Old School" and being an "Old Head" are 2 different things and one doesn't really rely on the other. Rock On!!! :righton:

One of my favorite definitions of "Old School":

From Charles Dickens masterpiece: Bleak House (circa 1852)...
When describing Mr. Tulkinghorn in Chapter II...

"The old gentleman is rusty to look at...
He is of what is called old school...
a phrase generally meaning any school that never seems to have been young..."

LOL I was at Ozzfest a few years ago and a kid said "pardon me pops" to me, I had to look around and see if he was talking to me, he was.

Ahhh... hand rubbed lacquer. Had 14 coats of it on my 73 Vette, first time around. Did a color change from white to a dark metallic flake blue. Sorta' like House of Color stuff looks now. :props: They messed up some of it when spider cracks started showing up in the body beneath the paint (after it cured). The cracks were in the body, not the paint as it was just flowing down into them. (Was after a minor wreck where a girl backed out of a driveway and Deb caught her with the RF bumper corner.)

So.... after taking it back it ended up with some places having TWENTY TWO coats of lacquer on it! Waaaaaaaaaay too much paint on a wiggly fiberglass car. I kept it for a couple years after that and got rid of it before the paint started cracking all to he!!. ;)

60 here Rick and I like to consider us as "professors of life"..... :props:

Old School.....Absolutely!! :dblthumb2:

Remember, age is just a number but sometimes a very old number.....

I'm one year away from the big 60. I'm just not telling which direction. Definitely old school in some respects but always ready to learn new tricks.

But still young enough to have learned from the 'ages.'

Oh, 70 in a month or so...if I knew I was gonna last this long, I'd sure would have taken better care of myself...LOL!
