VENT!: Car range!

So this is a vent about my cars range! It's a C63, and has a 65L tank (17gallon) and gets 22-23L/100km (9-10mpg). Meaning I get only 280km (175miles) a tank! Now I'm not trying to complain about money, or something like that. But I really wish MB would've put a larger tank on it! I have had to fill it twice today! I can't even drive to Calgary (400km - do business there a lot) on one tank! Rage quit!

uhh, yea its a V8 SPORT luxury car with a hand built motor meant for speed.

That and its a C-Class frame.. shoulda got an E63 Or S63 for bigger tanks =)

Or a prius for better gas? =)

Lol the C63 is a hybrid already!

It burns gas AND rubber! LOL

Don't scoff...
One of my vehicles, once I installed a ProCharger supercharger, started to breathe a whole lot better,
and the fuel economy increased...substantially. If I would only keep my foot out of it...it would be more.
But where's the FUN in that!!

As a result of detailing cars shuttled many high end cars like Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, Porsches, etc.... and my favorite car by far is my Ford Raptor. It feels like it was custom made for me. I only get about 11.5mpg but it does have a 33 gallon tank!!

Let me get this straight. High performance c63 AMG? Avatar of you (?) drag racing? 0-60 in 3.8 seconds?

You're ranting about range? Lordy! That's a kick ass car, man.

BUT...

17 gallons at $4.50/gal = $76.50 US. (175 mile range?)

Average yearly miles driven 12,000. That's $5245.71 annually in gas. Over 8 years, that's $41956.71.

MSRP c63 = ~$60,000

$60,000 + $41956 = $101,965

Could have gotten yourself a Tesla Performance+ and gotten similar 0-60, better range, unlimited battery warranty and never had to fill up again. :dblthumb2: :dblthumb2: :dblthumb2:
 
Is it a plain jane C63? Or the kick-you-in-the-pants C63 AMG or rare C63 AMG Black Series!? If one of the latter, I doubt you bought it for efficiency or range. My Challenger's tank capacity is only 2 gallons greater, and my old Mazda Protege5 is actually 4 less.

At least when you have to refuel, it means you gotta stop, and stopping is just a prelude to tire-smoking pedal stomping!

After re reading this, I think his problem is not the MPG, but the size of the tank he has, so he can go faster for longer!

You need some custom work done on your ride, I'm not a body man or custom fabricator, but sounds like you need a bigger tank. Lol

To what extent would a larger-capacity tank affect the overall performance of this vehicle...
Seems it'd be just some more additional weight to be hauled around.

Some folks think that MB engineers are some of the: "best-of-their-breed".
Others don't.
