Ello everyone.

I just got my new Griot's Garage DA the other day and got a chance to try it out. The cold weather didn't slow me down, and I worked in my 55 degree garage boldly. Nothing can stop the perfect gloss! :buffing:

Here's my process...

Poorboys Waterless Wash + Dawn Dishwashing Soap (To strip wax. 50% Poorboys, 40% water, 10% dawn)
Clay Bar
Wolfgang swirl remover
Wolfgang finishing glaze
Chemical Guys Blacklight
Wolfgang spray sealant
*Later* P21s 100%

As an alternate product to Wolfgang's finishing glaze, I also give Dodo Juice's Lime Prime a try. I used the abrasive version of Lime Prime and found that it finishes EXTREMELY well. I'm very happy with the "glass" finish that this product gives.


Anyways, here's a good shot of the hood after applying Wolfgang's spray sealant. I plan on following that with P21s 100% tomorrow.

My lighting is terrible, so it's tough to see much detail on the surface. I can tell you that I had very minor swirling before, and it is all gone now. I'm very happy with my first DA job!

What do you guys think? Who else has used Dodo Juice's abrasive Lime Prime and liked it?

It looks great. Haven't tried the Lime Prime yet.
 
I bought Lime Prime long before my DA, and to be honest, I wasn't impressed initially. I never had good results when using it by hand, so I tucked it away and never used it.

When I used it by DA instead, it really became a different beast. It finished with a much more slick and smooth surface than Wolfgang's finishing glaze did.

Of course, I haven't used many other polishes yet. But when comparing it to Wolfgang, the Lime Prime finished much nicer in my opinion. I would recommend giving it a try.
 
Niced job. I was thinking of trying the Dodo also one day. I like your Miata.

Having a garage is a tremendous asset but in the North it's a requirement.

Detailing really begins to slow as the temperature drops and 55 is about it for me. Having a heater, woodstove, gas, or other heat source is essential to keep both the car and person warm enough to ensure a comfortable environment and quality results...

My woodstove is warming things out there nicely but takes quite a bit of time to warm all those cold objects up....:props:

It's my first choice of sealant during the colder months. Considering how much I like the Spritz Sealant, I'm also curious about how well the Deep Gloss Liquid Seal works. Have you tried that yet?

This is very true. We would all be waiting a few months without them!

Running a decent space heater for a little while brings up the temperature to bearable levels. Even so, a true heated garage has always been on my wish list! :dblthumb2:

Luckily my car was already clean, because a full wash would have been out of the question at 6PM with an outside temperature of 30 degrees or so. :eek:
