Well boys and girls....I must share this with you.....she made me proud today....

...my fiancee took her RX350 in to get serviced today and she taped this to the steering wheel! She told the advisor to NOT wash the car, and then made sure the service advisor wrote it down on the work order. She mentioned that I was a detailer and that I'd divorce her before we got married if she came back with a clean car. As odd as it sounds...I was happy for her to return home with a dirty car.

Haha....thats awesome. My wife also now appreciates a clean SWIRL and HOLOGRAM FREE vehicle.
Congrats!

:applause: Good job. You've educated her well. :props:

MARRY HER IMMEDIATELY!!!! She's a keeper Alex!!!

That's awesome!!

LMAO you guys are hilarious!

I would've thought that a Lexus dealership would have competent porters,, you know, the whole "perfection" thing. This reminds me of last week when I took my CR-Z in for its first oil change, I had just washed and gave it my usual "once over" too, so it was looking good. I told the SA that I didn't need the car wash and then a porter came over and put one of those bags over the rear wiper and I asked the guy "what's that for", he said for the car wash afterwards, I laughed and the SA asked him "does this car look like it needs a wash!", "it would come out dirtier than it is now after the wash!", LOL.

You've got a good girl there for sure:xyxthumbs:

*Sniff*
And happy fridays do come true.

I see your fiance is Rican better married her ASAP! BTW Do they always wash the cars when you get it serviced? Or depends on the dealership?

lol i agree marry her now! Had to take my girlfriends new bmw to get serviced and i made 6 signs saying DO NOT WASH CAR! and taped them to every window in the car. When we went pick up the car the sales man said he sent it in for a detail bc he forgot i told him not to wash the car an the detail guys called him an told him there were signs saying not to wash the car.lol Im so happy i did what i did bc just simply telling them not to wash the car isnt enough.
Glad everyone here understands our madness bc the gf thought i was crazy

I always take the work order out of the service writers hands and use a Sharpie to write completely across it "DO NOT WASH OR DETAIL"
Plus a sign taped across the steering wheel and another on each outside window door glass.
And I load a special program into the engine computer that changes the redline to 2500 RPM
That's plenty to let them move the car around in the lot, but not enough to let them beat on it...

I don't trust any dealer porters at all! I'm totally invested in all of the cars that I've polished and waxed. I told my dad that I don't want him washing his car at all. For father's day, I'm gonna get him a bunch of detailing supplies and show him how to properly care for the car.

dude...she can cook too!!!! I think most dealers have a swirl-o-matic now. Higher end dealers have porters who hand wash the cars. It was a whole production line at the Acura dealer I went to.

hahahah August my friend...it will be here sooner than I think. WOW!!! yeah man...it seems you can never be TOO careful. I damn near had a panic attack when I took my car to the Acura dealer to get checked out. I was so paranoid they were going to disregard my sign and wash the car.

She will, in short time, regret putting that sign on the wheel, she will always wonder "if only I did'nt..IMHO...she was oh soo close...time will tell :::biting nails::: Pacing:::waiting:

I took my black Tacoma in the other day for my first 5k oil change and I had a cooler in the back of my truck. The service guy asked if it was ok to wash the truck with the cooler in the back. I told him DO NOT WASH, this truck only gets hand washed. I come out when it's done, and the a-hole hAd washed it, didn't dry it, no tire dressing nothing. So basically he ran it through the swirlomatic and pulled it into the service drive. I was soo pissed. I wrote all the way cross the dealer receipt that "customer did it request car wash."

Luckily no Visible scratches, but next time, I'm doing the fiance signs above.
