Coasties!!!! I almost went Coast Guard.

LOL...alot of Army guys say that. In fact, I am the first male in my family (father's side) since 1779 to not serve in the Army. Nor did I attend West Point like most of them. My father is a retired full bird and it took him many years to admit that I made a good decision and he didnt! I was never a fan of living in the outdoors. I always had clean sheets, hot food and an ocean view.

ARMY 226 Light Maintenance 1970-71 Ft.Sill OK. (welder then cook) A long ,long time ago.

That's funny. My cousin and I are the first Army. Everyone else has been Air Force. Grandfather retired as a Brigadier General and always yells at my cousin and I for becoming Army NCO's. We could have gone to the AF Academy he says. LOL. Why would we want to sleep in tents and drive Humvees when we could be in jets and top notch barracks.

My Uncle served as a frontline Infantyman during the Korean war...lost his Life while battling Lung cancer

My Great Uncle Ray served as a paratrooper during WWII and participated in D-Day,he taught me how to shoot a rifle when I was young........always told me " Hit that target Tim your life may depend on it"........He passed away many years ago from old age....and was Very Proud that he served... He always told me "I have have no regrets for what Ive had to do"

Two great Influeces in my life and will never be forgotten!

Now that the eyes are starting to water ,please everyone have a safe holiday weekend!
