These pads and backing plate are very flexible, I watched Mike use them over the curves in Jason's truck and they just held nice and snug to the paint! Very cool job Lake Country!

Very cool! Not available for purchase yet?

When you say disposable, do you mean toss them after 1 use, or can they be cleaned?

Nice video Mike! I'm thinking it won't be long before we see your own show on Speed Chanel. ;)

Any word on whether they plan to offer these pads without the CCS technology?

Looking at how the backing is laminated onto these pads much like the Meg's SoftBuff 2.0 pads, I'd imagine these could be machine washed. Just a guess....

I just talked with Eric at Lake Country and he is going to step in the thread in just a bit and answer some of these questions for you.

Hey Everyone. I dont want to get yelled at for spamming, but the video we did at our website is the latest version. We have been working on this for about 4 years and finally very happy with it. The backing plate will be in 3 colors with different densities.

Haven't they always been disposable?:laughing:

Cool video Mike/Yancy, keep up the work guys!

I wonder if the Flex 3403 will be powerful enough to use this system?

On a side not, supposedly this system will not be available until the end of the year.

I think I like the way those pads look working on curved surfaces and transitions as an even bigger selling point than the no cleaning/one time use situation. Looks like they will make life much easier than trying to use pads with squared-off edges.

I wonder if the Flex 3403 will be powerful enough to use this system?

Sure it will.

Even though the diameter of this pad measures 8" when measured from the back, if you look at the shape of the pad, and then measure the "working" area of the face of the pad when held flat it's only about 6 1/4" in diameter...

In an effort to provide great quality answers here on the Autogeek forum, I went out and machine buffed the hood of Harvey to give it a good test with the Flex 3403 and the new 1-Pad Polishing System and the Flex 3403 worked flawlessly...

Here's a few pictures, cropped, resized, uploaded and now inserted for your viewing pleasure!

I would not suggest for use on anything except a full size rotary.

First I've heard of this but like I always say...

"Follow the manufactures recommendations as they know their product best"

And Eric's advice would certainly apply if you're using a wool pad and aggressive compound to buff out an entire car.

All too often I find online enthusiasts pushing tools and pads past their limit... not just to their limit...

In case I missed it somewhere, when is the system going to be available from AG?

I saw the system are out in introductory offer. Throwing it out with 1 use will make sense for professional detailers but enthusiast like me may not be cost effective. A few questions to clarify below b4 investing

1. Can the 1-pad backing plate be used with non disposable pads? If so, is it 6.5, 7.5 or 8.5inch pads LC or Meguiars?

2. What is one use definition? Never cleaned? Even conventional pads we do spot clean on fly with towels/brush/duospur? What about quick wash & dry on watery products like 105/205? Pad cleaner system?

3. 1 full detailing session of several hours/days for professional compare with enthusiast that just do it for a panel for spot correction. Does it mean I have to throw it away after 10-20min use? If not when?

4. Since it's design for 1 use, are the pads or backing any way inferior with existing LC pads or similar quality to normal or hydro-tech foams?
Don't want to invest expecting some "limited" reuse but will deteriorate after washing thus I should buy normal pads.

I understand the long term perfection aim of throwing away pads with 1 use to avoid cross contamination for professional detailers who do that for foam applicators too. Others like me may wash and use till deemed not optimum. Just some clarification for me to consider trying this out if the backing plate is reusable with other pads or the 1 use pad is theoretically reusable. Thanks for your thoughts all.
