Video Review - How Chemically Resistant is Opticoat?

I did do a follow up using Meg's + APC BFWD, PL, & WGDGPS. It didn't touch it. Honestly, I do appreciate the testing you did. It is important. Just for the sense that, OptiCoat failed for me. So something took it off.

However, tests like yours show my results were an isolated incident. I'm not naive enough to blame the product, so it must have been something I did. The thing is, I'm just crazy enough to try it again next winter.

Oh cool! Let me see if I can find it...

Edit: Found it. Have you tried using an APC straight though? Maybe the dilutions were making it difficult to remove the wax? I know that the manufacturer's directions (ie like Sonus) state diluted APC will remove wax, but clearly that was not the case.

Also, I have seen your OC thread where you stated it didn't work for you... so I'm interested to see if you can get new/better results next time around :)
 
I tried 70% IPA strait, Eraser, & GG Paint Prep and it did nothing. But, just to be very clear: it was just those 3 sealants. Other sealants and waxes were easily removed. Sonus All in 1 @ 30:1 does remove wax - I've tried it. But, not these sealants @ 10:1.

I don't have powerlock or I would do the test myself to see if straight APC removes sealants. Interesting point you bring up :props:

If you ever get the chance, do you think you could try APC straight?
