I was at the PPF shop as I needed to get a quote on a recent side swipe....

In front of me was something new to me. I knew colored PPF existed, but in front of me was easily a deck of 50+ colors in PPF

Vinyl wraps was never for me, even though they did offer a plethora of colors....and *ease* of install edge to edge (since it was so thin, it **wrapped** well) with much less issues of edges lifting, etc as the thinner material has less tension like PPF

Anyhow, snapped a pic to share....
I'm off to take a deeper dive into this color stuff. Shop rep says its the same like the clear stuff we all know, all backed by a 10 year warranty, etc.
I don't read much into warranty's....warrantys to me are basically will my shop stand behind XYZ.
10 years, 20 years, etc....I don't put alot of weight into warrantys. A good shop will generally address issues and not even bother submitting claims, etc as from a customer experience, it's goes a long way on nipping the issue @ hand.

Anyhow, for those interested, here is a quick pic of a -deck of colored PPF- .

----------------

For the wiki, having multiple PPF previous, it is not optically clear......
One MUST be ontop of keeping it sealed IMO. It is porous...it soaks stuff......and if one removed old PPF, and hold it in front of your face, you can see how it's not true clear over time. A easy comparison would be the KEWEL kids who use the hot pink, florescent green snow foam and find out that it has --stained-- their PPF.

So what that said, I think it's too early for this colored stuff if one does not have a garage or keep their cars past 3 years....imagine different panels fading on the color due to UV. I can see that happening but I suppose this color stuff has been -lab tested- to at least not shift for X time (hopefully)

Link doesn’t work for me.

I always like the idea of vinyl and then I think of under the hood (engine bay and underside of hood), door jambs, trunk area etc.

The link worked for me, I notice the front left colour is Ultra Gloss Ferrari Red, I'm guessing they could only use the Ferrari name with their approval, it's probably for use on Fezzas anyway, but could I get my Toyota done in Ferrari Red?

Link doesn't work for me either.

Many of the cars you see and think it's a custom paint job, it's actually a wrap. From even a short distance you can't tell the difference.

Thanks Dave! Tons of colors there for sure.
