Client emails me talking about how bad the swirls in his car bother him. Swirls in the paint, taillights, pillars, paint protection film. Then he tells me its white. So this car is really banged up or the owner has a good eye (or a little of both)

Upon arrival, he was right. Gave it a look and didn't see very many deep scratches to worry about but it was a mess. A 2 step paint correction with Opti-Coat protection was agreed upon. Goal was roughly 95% correction or better

Got started with my traditional car covered in foam photo

Then 2 bucket wash, Iron X and clay.

After all that I got a good look at the paint. Did some test spots and settled on a Megs MF pad with a mix of d300 / m101. Here and there I'd have to hit a panel a second time but for the most part I was getting where I needed. Followed that up with M205 on a white pad.

Start with the hood

Before (this is the painted area above the paint protection film which covered half the hood)

Did some testing and found it responded well to the same d300/m101 => m205 combo. It also reduced the yellow appearance quite a bit

After the correction car was washed again, wiped down with Eraser, and protected with Opti-Coat

Took a photo or two in the garage

Then shuffled it outside for a final inspection. Respect to the iced coffee first

Client gave it a thorough inspection along with a stamp of approval.

After we were finished up I was curious how he had found out about my work. He told me instagram so its only fair I give it a plug once more.

Great work! :xyxthumbs:

So you used the same combo on the door pillars? Those are usually very soft...

yes, I just had to make sure to lighten up the pressure last pass or two with m205. think I cleaned the pad in the middle of the buffing cycle on those areas for that reason

Great work on a great little car! Hard to believe paint can get to that point already on such a new car!! Hopefully the owner is steered into ONR, mf wash mitt and/or Aqua sponge and quality drying towels, just that alone will pay big off big!

Once again, great job!

RESPECT. Great job! Love clean white.

Hey the cars dont polish themselves. Thank you iced coffee

I have the AG flag in my garage. So I drink the PBMG kool aid too

Car came out great. I have a Candy white GTI with minimal swirl marks. The hatch area is a suction for crap and love how the iron x worked in your pics. Did you wash, iron x then polish? I was also wondering how did you go about doing the pillars. That's the area that shows the most swirl since theyre very sensitive

wash, ironX, clay bar, then polished

the pillars were pretty much treated the same as the rest of the paint. just did my best to finish it down as best I could with m205
