Hello everyone, just doing some compounding to a 2012 vw jetta black. using ultimate compound with a orange ccs pad. Is it normal to have alot of black on the pad? It is turning out great but I'm just worried that I'm removing to much

You should have any black on your pad there is a clear coat on your car. Has it been repainted? What polisher are you using?

I agree. I would think a new VW would have a clear coat coming from the factory.

More details and can you provide photos?

Actually I think it was diesel fuel as the area was below the tank .. Good bye pad

Yeah what Pureshine said.

The only reason you should have color on your pad is if the car is dirty. Or if you have clear coat failure. Seems odd since you have a 2012.

Did you clay the car prior to buffing?

Since there is no CC left. I knew this would cause coloration on the pad.
