What do you guys think of this mess? I've heard horror stories but this is downright ugly.

The temperature and wind was getting too brutal even for me so I called it quits for today but this is how this thing is turning out so far.

There will be no One Pad System review with this car. This paint is entirely too soft for those pads. They were just tearing this paint up and making a total mess of it so I switched over to my VC pads so I didn't burn the paint.

Must be fridged cold if you're packing it in...Looking great Dave!

Nothing the whizbang products cannot handle.

Great work my friend.

It was 78oF today in Macon, Ga, if this makes you feel better Dave. By the way, what are VC pads? Looks awesome so far.

Sure it makes me feel better because I know were about a month or so behind you.

Looks awesome so far.
Thanks man!!

By the way, what are VC pads?
LC Variable Contact Pads. I wish AD carried them but the only place I can find the 6" ones that I like is at Poorboy's World.

Dave...

That car is a total mess, but your work is taking care of that!

By the way, what type of vehicle is it?

They are my favorite pads....I didn't know PB's carried them(thanks)...... I wish AG carried them!

That looks like my paint minus the holograms. I am working on it right now, taking my time, hope to have some pics up soon. I doubt it will look as good as that Miata though, That's an awesome turnaround Dave!

What a wreck to start with!

Looking good Dave!! :props:

Dave, are you referring to the 6.5" pads? Have you tried the 5.5" VC pads? What is it that you like about them? Thanks!

I hope it doesn't look like that again a month after you finish. I have a few people that just kill their paint after they spend money to fix it.

Sure thing. He carries both the 6.5" and the 5.5"

Thanks! I've worked on a few S2Ks and the clear is super thin and very soft. Is yours clear coated? If so go easy with it. I find that PB SSR 2 is a great polish for doing S2Ks.

Thanks Corey!

Looking awesome Dave! Can't wait to see the finished product!
Thanks Anthony!

I am referring to the 5.5" VC pads for Flex polishers (that's what PB calls them but on LC's website they're referred to as 6"VC) I like them because they are not rigid or stiff, they're very easy to keep flat on curves so holograms stay at a minimum and I can easily polish A pillars and tight areas by holding them on their edge without instilling deep holograms like the stiffer flat pads.

I have my doubts that it will stay in great shape just because of how soft the paint is. I am doing this car for free for a co worker just so I can have some great photos to kick start my spring season Facebook marketing. I have completed one half of this car from front to back today. Tomorrow when the sun is up high I'll be getting some awesome 50/50 shots of it.

looking great so far!
Thanks!

Good morning AGO!! I'm heading out to correct the other half of this little go cart. I'll be correcting the second half with Mothers Machine Glaze and their Foam Pad Polish. The first half was corrected with M-105 and M-205. I was originally going to use Collinite #845 as an LSP for the second half but I was so impressed with the AutoGlym HD Paste Wax on the first half that I decided to use it on the entire car.

I'll post a thread in the Show and Shine forum with a full process/products/pads writeup and some more pics including some spectacular 50/50 pics.

Dave, did you use the red sponge that came with the AG HD for application, or did you use something else. Also did you mist the appliicator with water prior to using...Just curious, I haven't used my AG yet.

Boy, this would be a true learning experience for me, to watch a truely blessed paint correction artist at work. (since your only a hop, skip, jump away from me).

Cant wait for those 50/50 shots. But, as for me, Im gonna go walk 18
holes for some relaxation. Have fun!!!!
