Your car's not going to explode if you use Turtle wax. I used to use Turtle Wax waaay back in the day, the original hard shell formula. I never had any complaints with it.

You know, my dad has a 1991 Chevrolet p/u with 345k that only saw Turtle Wax Hard Shell twice a year. It is just now startin to oxidize and rust because for the past 6 years he hasn't washed it. It has seen salt, snow, lime,mud and you name it. Yeah maybe the consumer products don't have the absolute best shine or will last 6 months like every product claims to but they get the job done.
