Did i waste my $5 bucks on a bag of microfiber cloths at Walmart. Will these not just do a poor job but cause damage to my car's finish?

I thought i was getting a good deal.

thanks,

Greg

I would not use them on paint, they are good for wheels and all around interior cleaning.

I dont think so. I used the ones was Costco. They are $13 for a 36-pack. I don't really see how you can cause damage, it's just a 70/30 towel, same materials. I do however have like 4 Cobra MF's for removing the pinnacle paste. Other than that I use the Costco ones for the wheels, polish removal, windows, interior, tires if needed, engine and anything else where they get real dirty real fast.

I use some WW microfibers from Wal-Mart, but only for cleaning out door jambs/sills and other misc. jobs that I don't want to use my Cobra's with. They never touch the paint. A good acid test is to take a CD, wipe the towel across it. If it scratches the CD then I would not use it on the paint.

I just use cheap MFs for door jams, wheels, interiors, but not interior glass.

i also use costco mf.. super cheap , yet still excellent! :)

ya i use the ones from sams club and havnt have any problems..they seem to work great

I would still to Viking towels if you want OTC ... no Cobra thats for sure, but much better than most offerings.

I have several brands of MF towels and some seem to work a little better (some have different pile depths) than others but nothing dramatic. The target vroom ones (gray) are nice. They have another color (labeled premium detailing towels) but seem less thick and slightly cheaper. All are 80/20 content.

If there is any damage it is because there is dirt on the car and not the towel itself. I have not had them long enough to judge durability since I have read some last longer through washing than others. The idea of segregating them by use seems smart.

I have already learned you can never have enough MF towels unless you want to be washing them all time so you get a chance to buy different brands to decide your favorites.
