Want a little swirl with the new car Missy....

Good work! Agreed with above, take lots of pics as you fix the screw up and present a training program proposal to the GM/owner.

I don't allow the service shop to wash my Nelly, ever. I don't allow topping off washer fluid or "adjusting" tire air pressure.

I provide a CLEAN non-skid, non-mar pad for the technician to use UNDER their fender cover. I place this note under the wiper, on the passenger seat and on the steering wheel (the Hyundai shop I go to has gotten used to my querkiness, especially the paint and tire pressure). This is what I print out:

Service Technician:

Please do NOT adjust tire air pressure.
Please do NOT wash the car.
Please do NOT top off washer fluid.
Please do NOT wipe down exterior paint for any reason.
Please do NOT wipe down interior surfaces for any reason.

IF YOU WILL USE A FENDER COVER:

Please place the black non-skid mat (on front passenger seat) over fender body / under your fender cover.

Thank You!

So....are we gonna see this new ride? I think we're all invested now. LOL!

it's either going to be a best selling book or a cult favorite movie.

have a copy of the paper work with the "do not wash"?
they're about to drop their price even more.

the truck i drive today was delivered to the dealership at noon on a saturday. I viewed it at 3:00pm with the pastic on the seats, arm rest, dash and paper wrap on the hood. i signed for the truck and was driving it home with the paper on the truck at 5pm.

they were confused when i told them the truck is not to be moved while we sign the papers.

hope it turns out for the best!

Next time I'm hanging signs in the car that says "Do Not Wash".

One of the folks on one of the BMW forums uses that windshield chalk/paint and writes "wash" with a big circle and line through it (in red) on the windshield. Not a bad idea.

I, too, tell them not to mess with the tire pressure either. I've adjusted it just right, in the morning when the vehicle hasn't been driven, at least every other week, thank-you-very-much....

Yes I feel everyone is invested and I so thank you for allowing me to vent. It takes a lot to ruffle me, but this one did.

I moved to Texas and the truck is here in Tennessee so I dont have any of my normal products. My friend brought me some AutoGlym wax so I washed and waxed the truck today just to keep until I return in a few weeks.

I will post pictures when I have it done, but will be quite busy until the end of the year. Seems as though just about everyone I know/knows of my work decided to buy new cars for Christmas so I am booked the next two weeks in Texas and the two weeks after here in Tennessee. Considering this is not even my full time job it may some time to update.

Good on you for educating them and making them take you seriously.

I think in your situation you should do an estimate to repair their damage based on the pricing on your website and ask them to either knock that off the price OR pay you to detail it and return it to original condition
