This is the results from the first wash testing these products.

DP Pro Series Poli-Coat Sealant vs Optimum Poli-Seal

Wash Soap - Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo
Water - 3 to 4 gallons
Wool Mitt

I mixed 2 ounces of Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo in 3 to 4 gallons of clean water. I like to use a wool mitt as it's soft yet it does a superb job at cleaning, won't scratch the finish and rinses very we..

I always like to spray the surfaces down with water. Wetting the surface allows contaminates to begin softening and dissolving. Photos 1, 2, and 3 shows the water beading nicely before washing.

I wanted this test to emulate a normal washing under average conditions. The Pinnacle Shampoo mixed nicely and wasn't overly aggressive at all. Its suds were moderate and took its time dissolving contaminates leaving me with the impression it's not a strong wash.

Drying was easily accomplished using an electric leaf blower. The high speed stream of air quickly removed the beading water leaving a gorgeous shine.

Conclusion:

Both the Detailers Pride Sealant and Optimum Sealant are performing very well protecting the finish. Beading was equal from both products and this is what I was expecting to see. Once the panels were dried the surface was super glossy, like it was the day it was first applied...

More to come....:props:

If you didn't know any better, it almost looks like the two products are identical!

Hey Charlie,

I was thinking along those lines as well but impressed with what I was seeing.

When you think about it both DP Poli-Coat Sealant vs Optimum Poli-Seal should perform very similarly for many weeks and I hope for a several months. I do suspect somewhere along the time-line one of the products will begin to fail thus resulting in a change in water repellency and shine.

Isn't there a recent thread questioning the durability of the DP sealant?

Hope you shook it up well before application BobbyG!

Fantastic beading. I, too, think that both products seem to perform almost the same. Thanks for the excellent review and follow-up.
