Wash and wax shampoo suggestions

For the first time. You guys are actually talking me OUT of a purchase. Typically a question here cost me $50.00

However I still think the right brand may make a believer out of a few of you. I however do not have the trained eye as many of you have. So I'd better follow the voice of experience.

You might go ahead and give a wash-and-wax a try. We aren't talking a lot of money here. Eagle 1 NanoWash & Wax has been recommended to me, though I've never tried it. I am about 2/3 through my jug of Megs Ultimate W&W. I honestly can't say that the product has impressed me and probably will not buy it again. I think I will stick to designated car shampoos. If I need to boost the gloss, I'll give it a quick wipedown with Megs' Ultimate Quik Wax, which I do like a lot.

LOL ain't that the truth!

I just don't think that "Wash and Wax" products can be relied upon for paint protection. Feel free to use them, I am sure there are good ones out there... Just don't skimp on true Wax/Sealant application! :props:

For a guy that used One Grand's wash and wax for many years, I honestly don't think that it added much protection. It was ok for lubrication and moderate with sudsing, but my cars always looked good and the paint remained fairly swirl free. That being said, it seemed that something was left on the paint and glass after drying the car which suggested a wax layer.

I prefer to keep up my sealant or wax protection, and supplement monthly with a spray wax during the drying process. Maybe two products are used but by using the spray wax as a drying or post-drying aid, one actually adds both lubrication and paint protection.

If you want a car wash that adds a temporary look similar to waxing, DG 901 seems to add an extra something that is different from other washes that I've tried. It's pretty inexpensive to try in the smaller bottle and available OTC if needed.

Of the other AG.net products that I've tried, Optimum and Ultima car washes leave a very nice clean shine that I seem to prefer. I have not tried the Pinnacle, Wolfgang, DP, p21, Griot's or Sonax car washes.
