Wash and Wax Shampoo

Totally agree..... no contest.., for maintenance washes especially where time and or energy is a factor, I definitely recommend the wash w/wax products from Meguiar's et al..... but, not so much CG stuff.

Just curious why the CG hate? Which soaps have you compared vs Meg's. See unlike most here I am very neutral and this thread makes me a bit confused lol. I don't think 80% of the people here have even compared any CG soaps to Meg's soaps.

I have and there is literally no comparison. CG soaps are amazing they really are. Great lubricity, they smell amazing and you only need 1-2oz. They are the best with foam guns too. I have bought or owned just about every car shampoo around.

I finally bought Mr. Pink.... works ok in my foam gun, but as a 2BW, not so much.... so, I use the Mr Pink as my "pre-wash" with the foam gun (have yet to try it in a foam cannon but don't see a need) then use another brand with wax for my 2BW.

No more Mr. Pink for me.

My company is a manufacturer of automotive products, based in the UK. The information I gave is very well known to anyone who would formulate products in this sector.

I am interested to know what company you are talking about?

Also, I've used the wash w/wax products and find there is a benefit.

No, it is NOT a replacement for separate products, but, for maintenance washes especially where time and or energy is a factor, I definitely recommend the wash w/wax products from Meguiar's et al..... but, not so much CG stuff.

Meguiar's Gold class and Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax are very good for the $ and available locally.

Totally agree. After protection, Meg's UW&W cleans very well, and I really love the way it enhances my 3 step work.

I don't use it for foaming as its the weakest foaming shampoo. But in a 2bw I always had great results. Only use 2oz in a bucket and gives great lubricity and cleans very well. It's not my go to but I won't abandon it.

I get awesome results with honeydew in the cannon and citrus wash or Hv07 wash in the buckets. Again if I use CG this is what I go with and car always looks amazing.

Seems as if we have opposite results...... puzzling?? I've got with Poorboy's Super Slick car was and like it way better than Mr. Pink. Once my stash of car shampoos are gone, I'm going back to Meguiar's Gold Class w/wax..... It does a very good job and helps keep my shine going longer than anything else I've used (haven't used a plethora of shampoos).

Wow, lots of people not happy with Mr pink. I think it foams like crazy in my foam gun. Love how gentle it is on a freshly waxed car.

V07 is very nice. It's gives a nice shine and good cleaning . I think it's better than Glossworks and honeydew.

There are many great soaps out there and they will all act a little different depending on a persons water hardness and how dirty there vehicle is and what lsp it has. I have many soaps that I like, some from CG, PBMG and many other boutique vendors. But to answer the OP's question about a wash and wax, HydroFoam is Legit! Super slick, good cleaning power and leaves legitimate protection behind.

i would wash and then use a spray wax after which will leave more protection behind and not to mention you will be going around the car anyway as your dry...

I love CarPro Reset, even on an uncoated surface. Only need like 1.3oz, foams in a bucket nicely, and great lubricity. I only use it for my higher end details. Otherwise I'm a Mr. Pink fan. I am on my second gallon. In less than a year. While in the midst, also using CG Honeydew, Citrus Wash and Gloss, Glossworks.. And they all work amazing.

I hate 95% of things from chemical guys. The 3 things I'll continue to use is Mr. Pink, Blacklight, and Butter Wet Wax for maintenance.

Not to get too off topic, but to answer OP's question, you will not get a true protection from a car wash shampoo.

when your mr. pink runs out try 3d pink car soap. it's every bit as good (works great in the foam gun & cannon) and costs $10+ less a gallon and it's pink too...

.

What's ironic is the stuff you love from CG isn't even their best stuff. This thread makes me laugh lol.

I use CG's Honeydew Snow Foam or 3D Pink in my Gilmour gun & Foam cannon. For me they both work very well. For my 2 bucket wash I use Mag's Ultimate Wash and wax but was never concerned about the wax since I use a spray wax when I finish drying the car down anyway. I've been using it for years and really like it.

In regards to the Op's question I like using HD Express, which gives nice depth and shine. I wouldn't worry too much about the suds having wax and just buy a dedicated spray wax. I also use Wolfgang's Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant too which really makes things look great.

I tried the Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo same last night and was left with a lot of water spots. I did the same routine as I normally do and was surprised. I like the foam and suds it gave but wasn't a fan of the water spots. Is this typical?

I ran some leftover, low dilution rate 1oz, Foam Cannon mix Blackfire Wet Diamond Conditioning Shampoo over my (subie) and my dads (HHR SS) '09 neglected, never waxed/sealed/coated, barely ever washed cars. Let it sit 5+min, power washed it off.

No beading added- maybe a tiny amount to glass

HUGE amount of gloss left.

Really quite surprised/impressed with it
