Wash bucket 3 or 5 gallon

The GG's do fit inside the Lowes 5 gallon "encore" branded bucket as well a the Walmart encore branded buckets. I placed a zip tie on my gg so it wouldn't fall out tossing the remaining water.

I use 5 gallon buckets. I use 5 gallons(sometimes more) of soapy water on some vehicles. I would have to refill with 3 gallon buckets. You probably loose a half gallon of water with a grit guard so you would only have 2.5 gallons to wash the whole vehicle.

I am a believer in lots of soap and watering when washing. I foam our cars down then use my 1 5 gallon buckets with soapy water and 1 for rinse and 1 for wheels ...OCD..My local water authority luvs me :)

I got two of the Pepboys buckets free with purchase, and bought two Grit Guards before I knew they didn't fit. Rather than spending more money, I simply took a pair of Wiss snips, and cut off the outermost ring of the Grit Guard, and they fit perfectly.

With my buckets (home depot and autogeek labeled), the grit guard is at the 1 gallon level so if you have 3 gallons of water you have 2 gallons of solution.
