Wash down

My wife has a new car, I was washing it yesterday and there was a bunch of those yellow pollen/insect droppings along with a good amount of smashed bugs. I foamed up the car pretty well and let it sit for a few but didn't really help that much. I'm just paranoid scratching the paint , how much pressure is to much? Can I use a section of a mf towel and concentrate on each spot? Double wash the car? Any tips would be great,I use a standard wash brush and Meg gold class wash. When I foam I mix a degreaser in with the soap helps a lot get stuff like that off. If still some left when I do my 2 bucket wash I pretreat with P21s and that takes care of it.
