Wash mitt you like...

I prefer microfiber chenille mitts. I get mine from Pep Boys. They hold up really well and they’re not terribly expensive - like $7 or something like that. I have a few lambs wool wash mitts, including a Dodo Juice mitt, but I seldom use them.

Don't you worry about grit getting caught in the tightly packed fibers in those mitts?

With the more open nature of the chenille wash mitts, I've never worried about being able to rinse out grit while washing a car. Anything picked up falls out when rinsing in my rinse bucket or when blasted by the hose. With the examples shown I could see plenty of potential for stuff to get trapped in there and being really hard to remove...either with a rinse while washing a vehicle or later on when cleaning the mitt. Ever have any problems?

They’ve been great. Do you rinseless wash? Do you usechenille mitts when you do? Most don’t.... the use MF towels and the work well. I think of it as the chenille noodles have a bigger surface area where something could snag/attach to the noodles and get swiped all over the paint.

Mike Phillips uses the Forrest green Cobra MF which have almost no pile for his maintenance washes so if he’s no worried, i’m not two worried about MF scratching paint.

Also Adam’s, Car Pro’s, Gyeon, Meguiars, The Rag Company, Gtechniq and alot of other car care companys are selling these types of mitts exclusively or over chenille mitts. I’m sure these companies have done more research than you or I.

Lastly this type of mitts seem to hold less dirt compared to chenilles according to Apex video.

Lastly i us 6-10 mitts perwash on my cars so i’m sure switching out mitts that often most whetever i use will minimize swirls.

The more mitts the merrier. That's being smart.

I must be the minority on this because I can’t stand the micro chenille/ noodle mitts! I use Meg’s MF wash mitts, Cyclones fromTRC and MM Incredimitt.

Same. Couldn’t go back to noodle mitts. Not that they are bad, but the MF ones are easier to handle and glide better. I usually use 6 cyclones per car.

I really like these CarPro mitts as they are easy to put on or off the hand.

I also like these Rag Company wash pads.
