I bought my black 2008 Cadillac DTS back in May. I always swear I will never own another black car yet I still end up with them :D. Anyway when I bought the car there were many scratches and a lot of swirls to deal with. I bought a PC 7436 DA and some Wolfgang swirl remover, polish and paint sealant. I got the swirls out and a lot of the scratches. I will work on the scratches again when spring gets back to me. Anyhow it seems that swirls just keep coming back. Again it is going to have to wait until spring. I recently washed the car and applied a coat of the sealant for winter protection. It looked nice. Just Friday I had to wash the car as it rained for three straight days. After washing and gentle drying I can visibly see the swirls again. I know that the paint is still protected but the "pop" of a fresh wax/sealant job is gone. Now to my question. Aside from recoating the sealant after every wash, is there something that I can do, to give the paint back the pop that it loses after washing it? Thanks

Don

Spray wax is your friend. I use it after every wash to restore that just waxed look.

Some good ones:

Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Spray Wax

Optimum Car Wax is a spray wax made with real carnauba and synthetic paint sealants for protection & shine! high-grade carnauba wax and silicone

Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax, spray wax, synthetic spray wax, quick wax, meguiars quick spray wax, paint protectant, liquid wax, meguires, meguiars car

Duragloss Aquawax (AW) #951

Pinnacle XMT 360 Spray Wax, Carnauba spray wax, spray car wax, detailing wax

My favorite is Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax, but the XMT is on BOGO right now...so that is a pretty awesome deal as well.

Oh! I almost forgot! If you wanna get real freaky awesome with it...And I am sure you do... Do an ONR wash, and add 1oz of Optimum Car Wax to your ONR solution. You will wash and wax all in one awesome step!

My spray seal and spray wax keep my black looking very nice. When it gets dull enough, another full was wax brings it right back to life.

I have 2007 Dts performance also black. I used ultimate compound followed up with ultimate Polish and topped it off with Colonite 845 for winter. That 7346 from Lowes did not work for me so I got G110V2.
I also found out that what worked the best for me was Megs Microfiber system.

Yeah my '08 is a performance model also. I love the MRC suspension. I will give the spray wax a shot. It seems like an easy fix for me. thanks guys
