Washing cars with hot/warm water?

Im here in New York. If the temp is at least 36 i will wash.
I fill bucket half way with hot water and then add cold water with hose.
basically use warm water to apply soap and just rinse with cold water.
never had a problem

If you run hot water during the day, these mineral/particles have already been "released/broken up". If you haven't run the hot water in while, days I'd assume, you'd might have enough coming to be concerned with if it's never been flushed. By concerned, I wouldn't be cooking with it. But I doubt, if people are everyday showering, dishwasher, clothes washer, etc that there's enough sediment to be concerned with when washing a vehicle.

I use warm water, not hot. Make sure your bucket is a warm/hot water bucket. :)

I use warm, hand comfortable, water to wash and rinse. No issue stripping wax or sealant that I have noticed.

ok awesome I have a shop but its gonna be like 40 degrees tomorrow and I can handle the coldness after the wash is over, I just can't handle the cold water on my hands. burr!!!! my hands stay cold all the time i'm extremely cold natured but awesome guys thanks!

Here's a "what not"...

I always like to throw this monkey wrench into the works:
"Hot water will freeze faster than cold water"...:D

Unless I miss my mark, didn't this old wives tale originate from making ice cubes in a freezer as the tray of hot water would trip the thermal sensor to run the freezer longer than a cold water tray would?

Couldn't tell ya...
I haven't had any old wives yet.

Ok guys I've finally bought a bucket and grit guard and its cold here in NC right now and I've got a few cars to do this weekend and just wondering if I could put hot/warm water in my bucket to wash them with? thanks in advance.. I'll be using the meguiars car wash you get at advance in the purple liquid.. also I've never used a bucket.. how much car wash should I put in a 5 gallon bucket? sorry extremely nooby I know.

There should be instructions on your wash liquid for a dilution ratio. Sometimes it simply tells you to add a "cap full" of product to a certain amount of water.

Also, just FYI the Meguiar's Gold Class soap (although it's a few bucks more) is 1000x better than the "purple stuff."

Yeah I know, I use gold class on my personal ride. Not sure what makes it better but that's what I always use

No, it's a skating rink thing.

The reason to use hot water in an ice cube tray is because the ΔT of the water is greater between the faces and the colder ambient air than between the centers of the cubes and the outside faces, causing the cube to freeze more gradually from the outside in. This results in clearer cubes.

I have a tankless hot water heater in the basement that taps off off to my garage. It's set at 115 how much it drops I don't know but it's very comfortable, I wash and or foam canon in the 30's. Yes it can and will freeze my biggest issue is the driveway freezing, never had a problem with glass cracking not that it is not possible.

My last few washes have been rinseless, I fill my bucket right from the tap using straight hot water. it has been 15 degrees out but with the torpedo heater my garage has been toasty. I throw my towels in the bucket and go. No issues.
