Washing Foam Applicators?

How does everyone wash their foam applicators?
 
I just throw it in the washing machine with my MF towels :)

I do usually presoak them in dishwashing detergent, although I'm pretty sure that's a wasted step, as it doesn't really do anything.
 
I usually just toss them in the wash, unless I use them on trim or tires. If thats the case then I just wash them in a bucket.
