So I was washing my car this weekend and while drying the jambs with my yellow costco mfs I stuck my finger under the lower door seal (on the car, not the door) to get some residual soap I guess I missed on the rinse and it came out filthy! I mean black.

I started looking for ways to take off the seal (looks like it is stretched onto a hook) but didn't want to try too hard in case it snapped. I ended up just running my finger under the seal but I cringed at what I must have been doing to the paint under there.

what do you guys do? every pressure wash with the doors open?

maybe try some ONR on a microfiber and run it under the seal instead of using your finger? I would be hesitant to use a pressure washer on something that is that close to the interior, especially with the door wide open.

I use a steamer and a Microfiber, I never let it get really dirty though, one of the few good things about buying it new and finding AG a week or so after I took delivery.

I wish i knew about AG when my vehicles were new!:iagree:

Even if I had found AG when I had bought my truck new it wouldn't matter... I have a 01' Land Rover Discovery II that is well abused but also well taken care of she is a trail beast that sees rock crawling, mud puddles, tree branches, and more but still looks great because of my upkeep... She has been called a "trailer queen" but the reality is that I pamper her when she is not on the trail and she is my DD...

Getting on point; I have found that when I am doing my monthly day or two long detail I find those nooks and crannies and use a plastic trim removal tool and wrap my mf around it and clean until it is no longer coming out black then I flush the area excessively with just clean water and dry, after that I take some good sealer wax and used my finger (if I can get it in the spot) to coat the area... I then use a good carnuba wax and re-coat... Sure I don't get any scratches out but I know it is protected...

Just my .02

I guess now that I know what lurks under there I can just use a spray bottle with some onr or my qd to flush it. The problem was it blended in so well with the rest of the car that I didn't even notice it was there. Sounds kinda dumb but it's funny what I've started to notice as the OCD progresses...
