Washing Your Car Before it Rains?

leave the car alone until after it rains, it's one less time you have to touch it because you'll end up washing it after it rains anyway...

Very interesting answers, sense of humor here is high level. Just can't stop laughing! (I was to place a picture because talking this is not as funny)

Listening to Art's song left me wanting to do the wash in rain review, I remember myself drying after a wash in the rain (light rain), I've gave up after some minutes, but I've tried! I can state it's impossible. Done. lololol

Then came Bob's song, remember when I sat and stared, what can you do more than listen to the rain (and watch the beading)...

Mission Failed!.

I believe a clean car performs better in the rain than a dirty car, I mean, for the dirty car the messy is bigger... Here in Brazil (my region) we have this variation every time, difficult not to rain every week, or weekend, or a day or two... it's a bright sunny day, it rains, then it's like nothing happened.

No way to trust climatic previsions. If you have a dirt car in this scenario, the rain will do a mess and the sun will come just after to dry that messy. 37-40ºC...

If clean, you only got some water spots... if dirty, you'll have to 'scrub harder' to get rid of it and maybe instill more swirls.

My opinion regarding the topic is explicit, wash before rain, during rain, and after!

Thank you for answers,

Kind Regards.

Just started to drizzle a little here in San Bernardino County. I am actually looking forward to the rain. I like to watch the rain fly off my windshield with Opti-Glass.

As far as washing your car, just put soap all over your car before you leave the house and let the rain wash the rest off, haha!

haha I actually thought about that that would be really funny lol, I would do it too if I only had someone available to take pictures of me hosing it down haha. Drive to Corona you can take the pictures while I'm soaping it down with my foam gun or if you want you can soap it down, either way will work. Then we can go grab some lunch and watch the water fly off my windshield too since I applied opti coat too it haha

(kidding of course)

Other side note: not sure if your name is Tato, Tato, but my brothers name is Teto. Well it's actually Rolando Hernandez but we grew up calling him Teto. Still not sure why I probably should ask one day.

It's pretty sunny outside in SoCal for being a rainstorm, well it does say it will happen tomorrow and I've also heard not to trust the weather forecasts

If you don't mind people calling you nuts (like stated in this topic), 'just do it'... choose your musical background (nice suggestions here) and go for it!

See the video where the guy is washing in the rain. Looks like an 'exotic' animal at the zoo... doing his most exotic number... people stare and think: 'ne lavez pas votre voiture sous la pluie'.

I've been there!

Also, thanks for saying 'weather forecast' instead of climatic previsions I've wrote earlier lol!

I liked this topic because washing before it rains says much about my detailing life... Have to live with it, but I hate, for sure!

---off---
My name is Rafael, but you can call me Rafa, or Tato, no problem here. Same 'brother' thing happened in my place, but I'm known more as Tato (personally and virtually) than Rafael. Thank you for asking.

I always end up washing my car before it rains. The weather man can call for a clear, sunny day all day long - I wash my car, 30 minutes later - it's raining.

But then I'm in South Florida (south of AG actually), so that may have something to do with it, lol.

I am really considering soaping my car down with Optimum Car Wash soap and my Autogeek Foam Cannon then going for a drive on the freeway. Now just waiting for it to start raining lol

It might rain here on Monday. My car has been looking rather dirty from the snow and the resulting muck we've had here the past couple of weeks, so today I washed it. Luckily my hose wasn't frozen; while it 38º now, it was 23º last night.

You should get rid of that garbage apple weather app and use the weather channel one.
