In my neck of the woods there are no shops available with floor drains and I'm guessing having a contractor add one would be way to expensive.

So I've been looking at products like this (and no it's not SPAM)

POWER WASHING CONTAINMENT MATS CUSTOM MADE | eBay

I think DetailKing has some that they say are better then vinyl (?)

Anyone have experience with these or other suggestions?

Any feedback appreciated.

How much the contractor is charging you? Perhaps if you do part of the labor, like braking concrete, hauling material, etc. could be a good deal for a permanent solution...The price for the containment mat seems high to me, but hey I'm a penny pincher :D

Remember that in many parts of the country there are codes related to indoor floor drains (especially in garages). In addition to mats, there are containment booms which are essentially water dams that you can attach a shop vac or pump to...does the existing floor have a pitch to it?

If you are really looking to do it right, then the floor drain is the right way, the mats and booms are going to be a nuisance.

so expensive....... i think Ch@#$@l Guys have same thing but cheaper....

Thanks guys for the replies.

I've considered Booms , but I'd need to put the vacuum system outside, way to much noise.

Was about to pull the trigger on the shop space but it was rented :(
