Water etch/stain

One of my guys asked me today what can be used to remove hard water spots.They use well water for the sprinklers and didn't move the car .You can see the etching but can't feel it.What product can you recommend and or the correct process to remove them .I have no pictures taken yet Thanks
 
If it etched into the clear most of the times youll have to wet sand and or compound them out. Even then you might not be able to fully remove them.
 
what a coink-a-dink!! I just washed my car this evening and noticed some nasty water spots on my hood. The other night, like an idiot, I gave my car a quick rinse off with the hose. well, that created some spots. I wiped the hood with vinegar, then did an IPA wipe then a hand job (uhhh) with M205 and a white lake country hand oval pad. It helped but they're still there. I went ahead and sealed it back up but I'm guessing next time M105 and a machine and hopefully that will do the trick.

The spots aren't that bad as far as feel and they look to be right on the surface but dayum.

lesson learned-no more hose rinses...EVAR!!!

I have the car over Fri after work .Going right for the Megs 105
 
hard water etching, i have that problem for my toyota sienna white van, it can be seen in the sun all over the car, it was really bad, it was on there for like 3yrs, i just try to do one side on the van, i used a PC with a LC orange pad with ssr2.5 and OP and OC 50:50, the ssr2.5 is good too, but it took me a while to work it out, not prefect but u can tell the etching is going away. with a rotary should be faster.
 
adam, the first car I did had water spots etched into the bumper that wouldnt come off with anything by hand. I used a aggressive clay bar then pulled out the rotary put on a orange pad with SIP and it took them out.

vinegar wipe down for fresh marks .... polishing for harder marks ---wetsanding to remove etching.
