I'm interested in finding out what other AG's are using for water filtration? Up till this point, I've never used anything and I know I'm using hard water. I'm considering the CR Spotless Water System, but I'm uncertain if the expense to purchase and expense to maintain the filtration media is worth purchasing. Also, how many washes and details will I likely get through before the media needs replacing?

Thanks, Kieran

Go to zerowater.com and type in your zip code to get your total dissolved particles. For me at 400+ I would maybe get 30 washes out of a $50 bag of resin, so it's just not worth it for a CR. I'm going to look up an inline kit.

zerowater.com say I have 187 . I checked it myself with my little tds meter I got 106-129 . ro water I use and get from elsewhere in 7 gallon jugs is 4 , I have that in a tank and use with or without pressure washer and through cr spotless for rinse . might be overkill but my resin last long time

Mine says 210 on zerowater. I have been thinking the same thing about a water filtration system .

The water I use when detailing at home is from a well. I'd be hard pressed to believe that the TDS reading is actually 79.

I just got a deionizer from Culligan it works awesome.

I have already washed 30-40 cars and no spots yet.

It costs $35 per month to rent and 125 every to recharge it when it needs it.

18 I guess I win haha, then again my town won best tap water in new york, so that could potentially be why, and yet I still drink Poland Spring.

I use the customers hose for my water so I just put the di tank in the back of the truck. It hooks up with a hose going in and out.

I can take pics tomorrow.

Zero Water says I'm 190 and that's almost exactly what I got with one of those pool titration kits that measure TDS.

I've had a CR Spotless in and out of my cart so many times I've lost count. I can't decide if its worth it to go through all the aggregation, as I have found techniques to wash in the sun and get little to no spots. But, it can be a struggle on a large vehicle on the glass.

It seems like for me any spots I do get are during the wash process - and its not practical to do a conventional wash using a CR Spotless (unless your rich). Even if you keep all the glass wet, it does dry in between the beads of water and can cause spots.

Duragloss Water Spot remover is a good product for a few water spots or spots that are new on glass. It does work well. Its a spray on product (not a polish).
