Hi all, my side windows are tinted but there are water spots embedded into the glass. Is there a glass cleaner or home remedy that can remove it or can i used my PC with a LC orange pad and megs UC to remove it? Im a little tapped on funds at the moment and cant place an order for a little while.

UC is a SMAT compound and might scratch your glass. When you have the funds try Duragloss 755 Nu Glass. If you have type 3 water spots, you may need something more aggressive like Car Pro's CeriGlass.

Ok i also have megs UP and WG TSR3.0

The water spots arent crazy bad. In fact a normal person prob wouldnt even notice them. Im just very anal about my truck and i notice it.

Im not 100% certain they are embedded. I just assume they are because ive tried a few different glass cleaners (Auto finess, windex, perfect glass, armor all glass cleaner) and they are still there. They are only visible to me when the sun hits it just right.

I've never had a glass cleaner remove water spots.

I would try glassworks before trying any polishes

Great thanks for the info guys. Its not a main priority just yet. Mother nature wants to remind me im still her b**ch and return the winter with snow rain and low temps starting tomorrow lol. So it will be about 2 weeks before i can even look at it.

Are you 100% sure it's water spots you're seeing?

Reason I ask is because when tint is applied it has bubbles in it that take up to a week to dry out. However, the trace of them can still be seen when the light hits the tint just right. This sounds like what you might be trying to fix, which is in fact unfixable unless you completely remove the tint.

No I can tell it's on the outside. I did think of that though.

Meguiar's M04 Heavy-Cut Cleaner,
and a terry cloth towel.

Sorry, I might hijack the thread.

What is alternative to M04 Heavy Cut Cleaner, Bob?
The meguiar's here no longer carry that product, rather old product.

You can try any number of paint polishes with foam pads on certain types of water spots. They will just not get real etched in ones without using something like CarPro CeriGlass. As always, start with a less aggressive method and work up.

Try a 1:1 mix of Water and Vinegar

Works on most water stains
I use it on my boat to remove hard water stains

I second this suggestion. Use white vinegar and you can use it full strength. If gentle wiping doesn't work, try placing moistened paper towels on the glass for a few minutes.

Try a compound or dedicated glass polish like duragloss nuglass or carpro ceriglass. I've had success with all of them.

-I believe AGO still carries M04...have them throw some in on your next order.
-M85 and M95 (for example) are heavy-cut compounds...
Perhaps your Meguiar's carries these, or can suggest alternatives.
