i know this has been discussed a milion times but im a newbie.i just did a full detail on a 2007 champagne colored yukon. i clayed it then used my ps ultra coat clear finish polish with my 7424 and a megs 8006 soft buff pad then used a ps fas-wax blue carnauba paste wax(by hand) after that.it came out very nice.on the hood though in the right lighting you could see some water spots etched into the clear about the sizes of quarters.where we live people use well water that is very hard water and im sure it was caused by this.my question is how do you get them off .do i use a more agressive polish or pad?and how safe is it to do?

thanks guys ive learned alot here in the last two weeks

You should try going to the next aggressive product you are using along with the next step up on the pad. Never jump to a few more levels up always work your way up in a small area to see which step is "Actually working on the problem your having then you know what to use on the rest and then work your steps back down. to final glaze.

I have this same problem with my Subaru. Lots of water spots because it was sitting on the dealership lot for a while before I took delivery. It will probably take you and me an intermediate-level polish paired up with an (Orange) light cutting pad to get rid of the etches in the clearcoat. In the future, if you see newly-formed water spots get rid of them ASAP by claying the vehicle before they can etch their way into the clearcoat.

Auto Int's ABC paint decontamination kit would remove those. Optional clay afterwards and light polish if you need (maybe not) and then wax/sealant of your choice. ABC is a killer product but you MUST respect it. Cool paint surface, done in the shade are mandatory.

You really seem to push this stuff pretty hard. Is it really that good. I took delivery of my new Scion xB. It was shipped directly from Japan to a port in Washington state. Then rail and truck from there. It is LOADED with rail dust and who knows what else. Will ABC take care of this in a safe manner?
