Waterless wash options

Hey, crew. Im really liking the waterless wash technique for my daily driver (and everyone else's car in my family). It's just so quick and convenient. But Im going through a lot of it. Currently using Megs Ultimate wash and wax and also the Duragloss (I forgot the number). I really like both. Awesome products.

Anyway, I'd like to purchase a concentrate from here on out and just mix as I need it. I've read great things about the Wolfgang Uber and am leaning toward it (great price right now).

Question: what other concentrates would you recommend for the purpose diluting for waterless washing? I'd like something economical (but willing to pay for good results). Should I just get the uber? Or something else? Thanks for your recommendations.

(Not interested in rinseless- just waterless spray on, wipe off). I know the rinseless technique is better, but in my current situation, the waterless is best for me.
 
Wolfgang Uber is great
Ultima Waterless Wash Plus is also a favorite.

I prefer the slickness of WG Uber, but the smell of UWW+

Uber smells like cherry candy. I do not enjoy it but the bees in my neighborhood do.

Excellent choice. Given the situation and product you are currently using, it's a clear winner.

I have just about every waterless & rinseles on the market. Without a doubt: Uber is ahead of the pact.

Think of it as UWWdoubleplus. You will not be disappointed.
 
Über is awesome and the dilution ratio for waterless wash makes it an excellent value too.
 
Just placed an order for the 64oz uber and the Wolfgang pressurized sprayer. Woo hoo! Thanks guys! Now I just need to make up my mind on microfibers....
 
Which ones are you considering?

Best bang for buck goes to the edgeless. Out of the colors, the yellow feels softest to me. Yellow->white->blue->green. In that order. If I'm stuck with one microfiber, they would be it. Seriously. No issues using yellow on the soft Subaru paint. Really dig the way they feel when doing waterless/rinseless.

The new Elites look nice. I'm getting some. Don't have them in hand, but my hunch is the construction is close to the rolled edge (love these, have 9 doz), only with microfiber border.

I've kinda been going back and forth between the gun metal elites and the gold plush jr's. I have a half dozen of the gold plush juniors in the large size for drying and I like them, so I've been waiting for the 16x16" to go on sale. I'd like 36 towels. It's a nice number so I can just save up the dirty ones and then just do one load in the wash. They're nice, but the price on the elites right now is really good. Just wish I had one in hand before taking the plunge!

Hey BrutalNoodle,

Those yellow edgless towels don't feel to thin for rinseless?

My wife has a '15 outback I take care of and I usually use those blue and gray shine and buff towels but they almost feel too thick to me.

IMO, the yellow edgeless are simply fantastic for rinseless. It's quickly becoming my go-to towel for GD method.

No, they don't feel flimsy at all. Quite plush & very balance when soaked & folded. At first I thought people were just being cheap for using lower gsm, but as soon as I started going this route, I realized how easy it is to manage. Thicker towels tend to feel bulky & vague. I just can't get the feel down with thicker stuff. When loaded with solution, it feels just right, and contour to curves/creases and intricate areas. Another plus is they're easy to wrung out.

There are quite a bit of 300 gsm stuff floating about; from big box stores to local auto supplies. No doubt about it, these edgeless are superior. From the way it feels to the fiber construction, you can definitely see & feel the difference when placed side by side with cheapies. Before anyone asks - yes, these feels softer & of higher quality than 300 gsm from TRC. Softer than their 365 (I have 30 white & 30 peach) and just as cushy when folded. No hate, just being honest. The only other all-purpose that's comparable are the ones from MFT.

I picked up a few dozen, and my gf ended up taking some for herself and gave some away to her sisters.

I've only got 8 towels left... lol


Looks like the yellows are on back order. Not surprised at all. These are damn good for the amount spent. I'm going to grab 50 more when it's back in stock.

Can you use both sides of the edge less? In the photos it looks like one side is plush and the other is super thin.
 
You are correct, sir. It is dual pile. I would flip to the thin side for glass/headlight/taillight areas.

They're not bad for the two towel drying method (one damp, one buff) either, honest. And I'm dealing with soft Subaru paint here. Suby owners know what I'm talking about.

But seriously thank you. I'm gonna check these out. I am always tweaking my wash method and have been thinking for a while that the shine and buffs are a little to thick for my liking.

I also ordered from TRC a while back and was not impressed. None of the towels I ordered were cut square. They were cheap though so no biggie. They have great stuff for cleaning the house though. I like Their microfiber floor mops.

You mentioned TRC, so I'm assuming you have a few towels in the arsenal. Try different ones on your next wash; see which thickness yields the best feel. If you don't have any 300 gsm on hand, the Cosco ones would work. At least it'll be a good starting point and see if that's too thin for your liking.


The eagles are nice, and so is its MFT rival. Both worked, I use them for waterless (although the grey MFT are a bit grabby). With that, the edgeless just hits that sweet spot for me. The fact that they're cheap is icing on the cake.

Cool thanks again! I think I'm gonna buy some of the new microfibers from autogeek when they are back in stock.

I'm going to down grade my TRC's to around the house towels but this weekend I'm gonna throw a couple in my wash bucket to see how they feel. I have the 300 gsms.
