Wax for dd's

I need help picking a wax/sealant for my middle package. What are you guys using for clients that bring you a dd that won't be getting polished? I am thinking something with fillers to hide swirls and such. My basic package is a spray wax and then my top package is AIO with d151 so i'm not sure what to use for mid grade.

I use meguiars#21 for most DD. I can't think of the last time I've actually used a wax on a customers vehicle. Since most vehicles use an ounce or less of product price isn't really a factor for me.
 
Optimum Car Wax or Opti-Seal. Doesn't get any faster or easier to use, both have great looks and decent durability.
 
I've always gotten great results with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant.

Since your using an AIO-D151 as your top package
(not really an aggressive polishing-product, IMO)...

Then, for your middle package:
Another, even less aggressive AIO, may be in order.
Something akin to Meguiar's Cleaner Wax (A12).

For consideration PB Nattys wax or a non AG product Clearkote carnuaba moose wax.

I was considering doing that. Do you think it would be better to just switch my middle package to d151 and make my top a 2 step? I charge $75 for middle and $150 for top (those are packages in and ext.). This is for production detailing.
 
Just to chime in...

Meguiar's D151 is about as aggressive as you can get as far as cleaner/waxes go.

I covered this in my How to use the Flex 3401 class at Detail Fest and explain why.

To the OP... for any daily driver I'd stick with one-steps unless they're black or dark colors. Since D151 is you top package consider using a "light" cleaner/wax or cleaner/sealant for a less aggressive, less costly package.

Take a look at these,

Meguiar's M20 Polymer Sealant
Meguiar's M21
Pinnacle XMT 360
Optimum Poli-Seal
Mothers Cleaner/wax
Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax

The above are all fine cut ot low cut cleaner/waxes, not near as strong as D151

I agree. Nattysblue liquid spreads very far with just a few dabs. I did a mid sized crossover with 10 pea sized dabs on the red pad. Results were fantastic!!

If your looking for an AIO, I like Optimum GPS. It works well, is easy to use (spray), and doesn't cost a lot. I also like it because it has a glaze component - as no AIO fixes everything.

If you want a traditional paste wax, its hard to go wrong with Collinite 915. Its a fairly cheap easy to use wax that doesn't streak or ghost. It's not fussy at all. It has the carnauba glow. It's better than many waxes that cost 5x the price.

If you want a sealant, it's really hard to go wrong with BFWD or PowerLock.

If your looking for something that is very fast, looks great, and is very easy I'd go with WG DG Liquid Seal.

Wow, Mike thank you very much for taking the time to reply. That is great advice. My clients are going to be mostly all dd's so I was trying to stick with the 1-step AIO based on your "difference between a squirrel and swirl" article.
 
Another vote for Collinite 845 its cheap, great shine, and durability

Another vote for Optimum GPS for a LIGHT to even VERY LIGHT one-step cleaner/wax.

I used this on my own daily driver all the time. I'd walk around the truck and spray some GPS over each body panel and then walk around the truck and machine apply it using a 5.5" LC White Flat Foam Polishing Pad on a Porter Cable. By the time I would be done applying it, I could follow-my-path-of-travel and wipe if off.

Wax my truck in about 30 minutes or less....

I just checked out the optimum gps and it seems like a nice product. Would it produce nice results on a non polished surface? What do you guys think about megs #6?
 
You also may want to consider a few DG products.
DG501, while having little correction ability, is a superb cleaner, especially for white or light colors. DG105, while not as potent, does have some cleaners and lasts quite a while, especially when mixed with DG601. Neither have what I would consider to be outstanding gloss, but both do a great job of shedding dirt IMO, so DD's just look better over time. And, like all the DG stuff I've used they're both dirt cheap.
