Wax not beading after 2 weeks.

If you're going o stick with a wax and want longevity and then Collinite is really your only option. I like 845.

You can always use a sealant to ensure long term durability and then top it with a wax to give the look of a carnuba. Or just go with the Collinite 845. Best bang for your buck.

I like 915. Personally, I've used 845 on my cars and my dad's and I've never been that impressed with the look on our black cars. BUT, I am by far the exception I think on that point. Most people love it. If you want, I have a bottle I could trade you as I have enough sealant's/waxes sitting around to last me years and I know I won't be reaching for the 845.

That sounds good what do you want for it?

PM me I guess. I have a ton of waxes/sealants so that's not necessary. And actually 845 is only 15 bucks to begin with so I don't want you to end up not getting the best trade. Let me know what you got, I'm only looking for a sample sized bottle pretty much.

There are other waxes that have good durability - Supernatural Hybrid lasts longer than 845, and also looks better (IMO). AG HD wax is another option, and another good one is Bilt Hamber Finis Wax.

I wrote the concept paper for NXT in 2003, Marketing came up with the name and R&D with the formula.

In my concept paper it was an all synthetic product with no cleaners that would compete against Zaino Z2. My concept paper was also included in my 66 page report called, "The Zaino Case Study" and "yes" Sal and I are good friends he's even attended one of my Meguiar's Detailing Classes I held at Lenny House's Detail Shop in New Jersey back around 2006

Despite all the mixed feelings about this product it went from zero sales in January of 2004 when it went for sale retail and by August of 2004, just 8 months later it was the number #1 selling wax in the United States. No other wax has ever been that successful that fast in the history of retail waxes.

I've never used nxt, but I think it's just a sealant with a different "marketing" name. (If it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck...)

Regards,

Dan.

To your point, Marketing chose to use the wards "Car Wax" on the label even though the protection ingredients are synthetic because the "masses" don't know as much as car enthusiasts that hang out on detailing discussion forums and you only have a few seconds to grab a consumer's attention.

The average Joe Consumer that walks into a retail auto parts store for car appearance products is looking for,

Car Wash
Car Wax
If you label doesn't use those two words you've already lost your potential "Joe Consumer" customer and in all likelihood confused him enough to make him look for products that do use the words, "Car Wash" and "Car Wax" on the label.

R&D chose to include cleaning ability because "Joe Consumer" drives a daily driver and the paint is going to be neglected and thus dirty with road grime at a minimum. If the average "Joe Consumer" doesn't see a visual difference after applying and removing a wax to their car they don't think it's working.

A pure wax, or in this case a non-cleaning paint sealant like Z2 would not work for the average "Joe Consumer" thus the reason almost all waxes in the wax aisle at your local auto parts stores are cleaner/waxes even if they don't say "Cleaner/Wax" on the label.

I think I cover all this in detailing in my article here,

And that's skinny...

It rained yesterday and the water beaded up really good looking like I had a good coat of wax on it but it doesn't do it when I spray the car off. Why is this?

Edit: I had forgot that when I washed it last week I used some turtle wax ice spray wax on it that's why it was beading this time

So would you consider ultimate paste wax as a sealant Mike?

With the meguiars gold class my car would bead for half a year this year I used the professional high tech carnauba wax and after two weeks it's not beading anymore. Does that necessarily mean the wax is gone?

Is that the No. 26 wax?

I've been thinking about zaino. What about a synthetic wax like nxt?

Zaino is great, I've used their Z-5 pro w/ZFX as well as their Clear Seal but since coming on here, I've decided to try the Black Fire products that are equivelant and must say I'm impressed:xyxthumbs: Nothing against Zaino at all, just wanted to try other products out there, that's all.'

As far as NXT goes, well, its VERY easy to use, easy to get anywhere and does give you a great shine with some cleaners in it too, just don't expect it to last that long but that's ok, since its so easy to use, you can apply it every month to 6 weeks to keep things protected and shiny! The directions say to leave it on the car for 15 minutes but what I would do is apply the product starting from the front and going to the back and once the car was completely covered I would just remove it w/o a problem at all, so don't worry if you go over the 15 minute time limit. I also remember is saying you can apply it in the sun and although I tried that w/o a problem, I wouldn't only because you don't need to sweat.
