Just curious. How often do you wax your daly driver and with what kind of wax?

Every other week w/Fuzion for me:buffing:

Before Opti Coat...Collinite #915, 2x/year. After Opti Coat....NOTHING.

I don't use wax on daily drivers. I ought to put Opti-Coat/Gard on ours like silverfox has done. Either that route or one of the other "coating" products.

the 845 is really holding up! i just have to maintain it with DP final gloss detailer after washes. still beads like crazy.

This is just on my 1999 Dodge Dakota. I have different products I use on other cars as well.

  • Collinite 845
  • Ultima Paint Guard Plus
  • Optimum Spray Wax
4 times annually

I switch between Collinite 845 and Ultima Paint Guard Plus because I like to. After a wash I'll dry the finish and give it a once over with Optimum Spray Wax. After I polish I always use a sealant such as Menzerna Power Lock or Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze...:props:

Lets just say that I am not one for a durability test of any LSP on my personal vehicles.

On my own car I wax it probably every other wash which comes out to ever 2-6 weeks depending. I either use Dodo Juice SN, BFMS, and now I'm going to try Supernatural Hybrid. I love waxing, and I love the look of a freshly waxed vehicle. I never take waxes to their durability limits on my cars. Now for my wife's vehicle it had been getting Collinite 845 twice a year, and will be getting opti-coat sometime soon. I hate working on it, and it's white so there is no pay off at all...lol

Once every 6-8 weeks using Griot's Paint Sealant.

Well this will change now that I Opti-Coated, but my routine was paste wax every other wash, spray wax after every wash. Paint sealant during the winter months.

Opticoat is awesome for the daily driver. Not sure what to do with it now that its covered.... Before it was opticoated and on the one thats not completely opti-coated I use whatever wax I'm doing a review on or whatever wax I feel like when I look on my shelf on a given day.

Thanks to a sample of Ultima Paint Guard Plus (UPGP) I received from Dark Horse (Tad), it only takes me 15 minutes to do my whole car and leave the paint looking slicker and glossier than it ever has. You simply wipe it on and walk away. That simple. So I've applied it twice in the last 3 weeks and I plan to apply it at least once every 3 months from now on.

Don't use wax at all. Duragloss #105 or Ultima Paint Guard Plus depending on the mood.

I have 2 vehicles in the family (both are garaged at night):

My car - Washed once a month with a refresh of LSP every two months (depending on what I used previously). I usually grab a "beauty" paste wax but will occasionally AIO + Sealant such as WG or UPP

Wife's minivan - Washed once a month and "sealed" twice a year with multi-coats of either Klasse SG or Zaino for durability reasons. I am extremely interested in CQuartz and/or Opti-Coat for this vehicle...the less I have to pay attention, the better.

Great info guys. Very interesting. I think some opti coat may be on order for my wifes

Journey. I'll still wax away on my Fusion . Like some i enjoy it and the fresh look .....Rob

really 2X week? Lol thats alot of waxing. Thanks again guys.

Collinite 845 every couple months on the 24/7 outside vehicle. Wears like iron. Great stuff.

845 twice a year before opti-coat. Now I have a lot more time for tires and interior.

Have Pinnacle Souveran paste wax that I am going to use after I do the paint correction.

So for now, I have been using CK CMW, Meguiars #26, and Victoria's Concours Red Wax. I like the look of a freshly waxed car so I usually wax the daily driver every 2 -3 weeks - this car stays outside. The garage queen is rarely taken out of the garage so that is a different story.

Seems like a lot of people use sealants on daily drivers so I may try that out next to compare the look. It certainly would be easier to maintain as waxing every 2 weeks can be time consuming.

It's so hard to decide, I love using Fuzion and I love the look but I love the durability of 845 and it is so easy to use too but WGDGPS is great also but I got a sample of Liquid Souvern which I can't wait to try but since I already have the Fuzion on I don't want to cover it but I keep reading about other ones like Max Wax and UPGP and Nattys and Powerlock and Black Lite I want to try them all. This waxing is just too confusing, I don't know how Corey does it.
