The PO of my car went a little wax happy, he waxed the cowl under the windshield, and the mirrors, and the deck lid which now all have white wax marks on them and in the microscopic crevices of the plastic - I also assume this means he used crap wax that had fillers in it.

He also waxed the windshield, im not sure if people do that or not.. but it kinda makes it hard to drive in the rain.

Spread peanut butter on it, let it soak, and then clean off. Messy trick, but it works.

A couple of things that have worked for me:
Tar X or whatever brand tar remover you have
Duragloss wax eraser
APC and a scrub brush.

All have worked on certain occasions and all have also failed. One will usually work though. It's funny how some methods work on certain polishes and waxes and some don't on the same products.

Wax and tar remover, which you can get anyplace that sells car paint. GTechniq Panel Wipe. Or maybe just IPA would work.

:iagree:If the above doesn't work, try a water spot remover.

I use wax and grease remover you can get it at a paint and body supply shop

If you don't mind starting all over, re washing w/ CG wash and gloss at LSP removal strength (1oz to 1gal). Being a noob myself, I had to do this after my first "real" detail! As far as Wax on a windshield, I'm not a fan, but I use CG Jetseal on the windshield and have been real happy :xyxthumbs:

Thanks guys, what is APC? And what wash product do you recommend to remove LSP, and what wash do you recommend to keep the LSP intact?

Thanks again, im gonna try some of these methods. Someone else also told me to use APC, so im gonna try that, whatever it is, once I find out :P

APC is All Purpose Cleaner. There are many brands meguiars, optimum power clean etc.

Chemical Guys Citrus wash clear at the correct dilution will strip lsp. 1 oz per gallon.

LSP safe soaps can be a lengthy list. :
Duragloss 901&902
Optimum Car Wash
All Dodo juice soaps
Ultima Paint Guard Wash

Just to name a few.

:goodpost: But I did not know about the citrus wash and clear. I use the CG Wash and Gloss at 1oz to 1gal to remove LSP and CG Wash and Gloss at 1oz to 4-5gal for regular washes and it leaves the LSP on just fine:xyxthumbs:

I also have been using the CG green clean at 15:1 (water:concentrate) dilution for my APC
Good luck!!!

It does work, but it is very messy if you do it in the hot sun. But I can attest it DOES work!
