Hi all, how do you remove a sealant that was used put on the car about a week ago? Are there any soaps like dawn, purple power or something like this. How many times would i need to wash the car to get it off? Are there any better ways to get it off? How would I be able to know if it was removed? thank you

Just went through this myself as I wanted to ceramic coat my car. Best way is to polish it with a light polish then do a IPA wipedown

I always reach for a finishing polish first. Not sure why when there are less abrasive options: Paint cleaner or pre-wax cleaner.

If you don't need to clean the paint and just want to remove wax/sealant, there's also DG Squeaky Clean. Only available here as part of the DG coating kit. I forgot I had this and just used it yesterday - worked great. I'm going to get more from DG. A little goes a long way.

Edit: Also found CG Clean Slate, which seems very similar to the DG product. Will give this a try.

Like the others have said, polish it off. If you used a quality sealant, it should resist most of the cleaning chemicals you mentioned.

If you've never clayed and polished before, doing so will remove the sealant and clean up the paint to improve the shine and gloss of the paint.

Why do you want to remove it?

IMO there are a couple of ways. Probably the most affective would be a Polish such as Menzrna SF 3500 or 3800. The next best option would be a dedicated wax remover such as Pinnacle Wax remover or equivalent. IMO I would shy away from an IPA. I feel it may be too harsh on the paint. AGAIN, that is MY OPINION!

Polish is only safe way
Acid based wash will do it, but you have to be quick..wouldnt do it outside
I use an acid based rinseless and it also takes place of a fallout remover and virtually takes place of a claybar too.

Ipa wont remove wax/paint sealants
Ive tested about everything people claim removes wax/sealants so far nothing works accept polish and acid

Still need to try a higher alkaline based product

if you want a non abrasive polish this would fit the bill...

Polishes and preps paint for coatings, waxes and sealants - no IPA or paint strippers required!

McKee's 37 Coating Prep Polish is a non-abrasive chemical polish that deep cleans automotive paint, ridding it of below-surface contaminants that will prevent a coating, paint sealant or wax from properly bonding. Formulated without any silicones, waxes, sealants, polymers or fillers, McKee's 37 Coating Prep Polish leaves nothing on the surface, making it the ideal polish to use before applying any product that requires a 100% oil and wax free surface.
