Wax Reviews

Looking at CR now. In liquids they had Griots Best of Show, no Pinnacle. Only Zymol cleanerwax. Rest were OTC waxes. No $2000 wax:D
In the paste they tested 4, Nu finish, TW, p21S and NXT.
Nu Finish rated better then P21. P21 had good gloss poor cleaning ability. Imagine that, since it's a pure wax.
Noticed same thing in the cars. On the Hemi it said tremendous acceleration but poor gas milage. Well DUH!

Isn't the Zymol cleaner wax the blue one that they sell at Walmart?

Zymol offers two lines, its concours line and the OTC line that is operated by one of the wax companies. The OTC line stinks ... well the soap aint too bad. The OTC line consists of a wash, cleaner wax, and detail the qd'er. Its the concours line (hand blends) that brought Zymol fame and many wins at the Pebbles D'Elegance. Zymol will actually design and provide you a wax that is "specific" to your automobile and paint for a hefty price.

This is one area that I do not put a lot of faith in CR to do testing. There
are a lot of facets to wax use. Durability, shine, ease of apllication and
removal that I think people that use the boutique brands and try different
products have a better feel for a comparative opinon than a lab test. I really
have more faith in the opinions of forum members like here at Autogeek and
Detail City than this test by CR. Hail to the experts of Automotive Detailing.
That would be us.

Yes, I believe there is a special blend available for Jaguars. Very pricey!

You ca buy the other Zymol at part stores Wally world.

Someone posted a video liink on another thread that showed a British dude using that 1,800 dollar wax. He applied it by hand, actually by hand, no foam applicator.

Just think, that's 24.7 tubs of Souvern.

I remember with our Porsche, there was a Zymol specifically made for Porsches, whatever that means. I think the Porsche dealers have upkeep pamplets and its in them.

no ! Zymol Enterprises is the company. Now maybe TW owns a minority stake in it.

Zymol in Wal-Mart, it is really Zurtle Wax. This is the wax my dad buys. I check it today and on the back it says Chicago, IL.

This line is licensed to someone (maybe TW) while using the Zymol name, this is in no relation to the custom blends offered.

Killrwheels, How is the Zymol QD. I can get some for 2.99 a bottle. Have you use it?

not bad for an OTC product, carnauba based. Doesnt last for more than a wash or rain however. I got mine for 2.99 also at Big Lots. Also had Turtle Platnium Spray .... I found it quite oily.
