Wax/Sealant/Protectant for Black Plastic Bumpers

I've used Meg's Ultimate on my tonneau, and I like it. Also on the plastic trim on the wife's Pacifica, and it seems to last ok. It's around $10 in the auto stores around here. IMO it's better than Back to Black, which is ok, not super great. I've also used 303 on the tonneau, and it was pretty good, but the vehicles are garaged, so that might make a difference.

well we are getting 4 feet of snow this weekend and i plan on going out with my new 2010 GMC SAVANA AWD to see how it handles the snow with the BFG T/A's I put on it. First winter with my new rig.

I washed and waxed yesterday and put on another layer of Klasse Sealant Glaze(I put one on a month ago) It was a nice 60 degree day so I went for it and added some protection before winter gets here.

The meg's UP applied nicely and really made the black plastic shine nicely. It is shiny as good as it can get. I will see how the Meg's holds up over the next few weeks. At $8 it is a good value, I don't mind IF I have to reapply as it only takes a few minutes and it is cheap. We will see.

The UTTP is $10.95 just for the shipping. The product is $31.99 not including any tax if any.
The Meg's Ultimate Protectant is available at my local auto parts store for $7 and change.

I will give the meg's a try for now. I was satisfied with the 303 but didn't like the cost. I'll see how this meg's holds up. If I can get a few months out of it like the 303 then I have found what i am looking for.

I haven't seen 4 feet of snow fall in years. Enjoy your fun!

I’ve been doing a test of black plastic treatments on an older Olds Intrigue, my winter beater. After a good cleaning I dressed all the plastic with Meguiar’s Gold Class dressing, then repeated it a few days later after the first pass had soaked into the material. After a few more days, I waxed everything with the only wax I had on the shelf that I positively knew to be a wipe on-wipe off immediately product with no white residue-Eagle One. It’s been 6 weeks so far and all the plastic is still nice and black, still beading water. I would suppose if I substituted a more premium product than Eagle One it would get me thru the winter. So far, topping vinyl dressing with a wax seems to really extend the durability, at least IMO.

I used to live down by you in Santa Barbara. People around the country have no idea what REAL snow fall amounts are. Up here at Tahoe we get 400-500 inches of snow at the ski resorts above 7000 feet. My buddies house at the top of Tahoe Donner has 15-20 feet of snow around the house every year. I've seen potato chip size flakes come down at lake level (6200 feet) on June 15th with a 3-4 inch accumulation on highway 89 between Truckee and tahoe City.Like I said the rest of the country has no idea what real snow dumps are. 4 feet is nothing to us here. How would you like to dig out from this.>>>>1969 | Tahoe’s record-setting winter | SierraSun.com

Squaw valley and Alpine Meadows used to stay open till the 4th of july. Best spring skiing/corn snow on the planet. great place if you are a powder hound.

See if you can find a boating supply store near you, they often stock 303.
