Need some help from the pros....

Here goes garage temp 80, washed car with dawn, dried with 100 cotton towels. Used XMT swirl remover #3 then #1. Looked very good. Washed car the exact same way. Applied Zaino with zfx after 3 days wax still wet/greasy. I have used zaino 80 -90 times before cold wet hot all temps. Never had a issue. I then put down blue painters tape and in sections put down Z2 with ZFX - next sec black magic wax - next turtle wax with color black - next XMT 360 glaze and last an older meguiars step #2. After 40mins the XMT 360 glaze and Meguiars were dry. After 2 days the others were still greasy. It takes 30 mins and a lot of swirls to remove these products. 100% cotton large towels clean used. Now all these produces have been in temps below 10 degrees. Any idea why this happens. Thanks

How thick of a coat of wax are you putting on?

And are you saying the waxes were in temperatures below freezing? Wondering if that is a problem?

Very very thin coats applied. Temp in garage is 80.

The products were in freezing temps - shipping - yet never (froze)

I guess my guestion is why? I just don't get it.

How long did you wait between applications? I tried reading what happened, just a little confusing. You buffed off all the glaze after you were done right?

Did you wait around 12 hours between each coat??? Thats usually what i do. Everyone has their own regimen though.

That sounds like a whole whole lot of product going on in a small time period. Atleast thats what im gettin from what you said. Maybe you can reword it for me lol hah

xmt 360 is not a glaze....its an all in one, cleaner, polish, sealant....maybe your mixing to many products....

Thanks for replys. I know its confusing. After the XMT swirl #3 and #1 I washed and dried the car. Clean slate freshly clean -One Quarter of the trunk (04 Black Viper) was Zaino next quarter Black magic next turtle wax last quarter XMT 360. Thats all:eek: Not on top or mixed together. All prep the same. Just to see if any would dry. Thanks I know its crazy, thanks

i dont know about the zaino, or the turtle....but xmt 360 needs to be worked in like the swirl removers...until its just about gone...its not really a wipe on wipe off like a wax or sealant...

Sounds like there's too many products being used, causing bonding issues.

XMT 360 needs to be worked, not left sitting. Sounds like bonding issues. Do you have Klasse AIO? Use KAIO by hand or polisher and strip, its a strong chemical cleaner that will leave a light acrylic coating for the perfect base. Then use one of your products for the lsp.

What are you doing to determine whether the wax or polish has dried up? You should do the finger swipe test but all of those products should be ready to be buffed off in less than an hour. The Black Magic stuff dries up literally in a few minutes.

The products usually don't get fully dry because then buffing it off would become very difficult. After about 1 hour (you can even wait 2 hours just to be safe), pretty much any product is ready to be buffed off.

Kind of what I was thinking...

I do know that Black Magic is a always a PITA to remove. Never had a problem with Zaino though.

Meguiars Deep Crystal Step 2 is also a pure polish, and is a WOWO product.

Always use finger test, and still greasy like a film of grease. Never applied a product on top of each other. All after a fresh wash with dawn. The XMT passed the finger test within mins. Product just will no bond on/to car.

Surfer I will try the Klasse products. Sounds like the only answer so far thanks.

Finger swipe test will not always work and is not always an indicator of bonding. Finger swipe test usually works but I've found that it doesn't really work for products like Klasse Sealant Glaze.
