waxing with chips in the paint

You can use IPA and distilled water mixed and q-tips or a microfiber towel or Carpro Eraser

^^^ Then buy Dr. Colorchip and fill. Toothpicks can help too. Take your time.
 
Another option is to gently use a wooden toothpick. As others mentioned, after the wax is removed, fix those chips!

In a pinch, there are a couple of waxes you can find at the local parts store that are black in color. This may be a great stopgap until you can make a more permanent repair!
 
I remember polishing out some guys BMW 335i a few years ago and when I got done I was amazed by how many chips he had in his hood. A lot, like 30-40+!!

My paint correction actually exposed all these imperfections in his paint.

Oh well, that's the way it is. He got a deal any way. That was three years ago, and he lives 3 houses down. :buffing:
