Wayne Carini and the F40.com Shop - Memory Card Explosion

Max, Darlene, Nick and I were at Wayne's shop in Portland Connecticut for the last few days shooting some new episodes of "Chasing Classic Cars".

Upon returning to the office today I need to clear off all the pictures taken while we were there. So in pretty much the numerical order the pictures were taken off the memory card minus any that were out of focus, here's a whole lot of pictures ranging from the action on the set, Wayne's shop and a lot of cars at Wayne's shop.

These new episodes should start airing in September on Velocity Channel.

Wayne has basically three buildings, the one in the picture below is where a lot of cars are stored as well as restored. This is where we shot our segments for his show "Chasing Classic Cars".

This is early Wednesday morning and about now the light guys are setting up all the lighting equipment to light the set.

It snowed the night before and you can see snow on some of the late model luxury cars that were parked outside overnight.

This is a reproduction of an Indy race car that belongs to Brock Yates...

IMG_9015.JPG

This is a Fisker, Wayne took Nick and I for a ride in this car to see his house and his personal car collection as well as a farm built in the late 1700's he's purchasing.

IMG_9016.JPG

This is Christina, she's one of the producers from Velocity here to direct the show. In this shot she's watching the action in the show room where they are filming Wayne doing and intro for a new Chasing Classic Cars show.

This is the office at F40.com and with all the TV personal it's getting kind of crowded....

IMG_9020.JPG

The set is now lit and here's Wayne backing in one of his personal cars, this started out in life as a 1933 Ford and now it's a hotrod with an extensive racing history.

Wayne's hotrod had a really nice finish...

IMG_9052.JPG

Last year when we were hear filming this Corvette was a bare body getting the doors hung, now it's a flawless completed restoration. In the background are most of the crew for cameras, sound and lighting as well as the director.

Marius is standing to the left hand side and he's the head painter and detailer for Wayne but today he's an extra for the show.

Here's Marius, he's doing some sanding and buffing on this old Jaguar. he LOVES the Flex PE14. When I met him he was using a DeWALT and now all he uses for rotary is the Flex PE14.

Here's Nick going in the side door of the other shop and below you'll see some of the cars being stored and restored inside of here. These pictures were taken on Thursday the day after we shot the TV segments so all the lighting equipment will now be out of here and the Velocity TV crew has left.
IMG_9135.JPG

Here's the Fisker getting washed, this is where we buffed out and actually hand rubbed the original paint on Wayne's 1953 Hudson.

Very cool pictures Mike! Looks like you guys had a great time!

That black roadster looks incredible with Synergy on it!

I spy a PE14 in action....

This is the inside of the old Town and Country Woody, the dash looks like jewelry as everything on it is so beautiful and shining.

The woodwork was superb on this car as was every component....

The machine in the back is a Distributor Tester. You can use it to set up and dial in the points in a distributor as well as other things. Old cars use points distributors or Magnetos so you need old equipment when restoring old cars.

Thanks Mike....

Can't even begin to share just how much fun it is to hang out with Wayne Carini at his shop for a couple of days. He's a great host, a real car guy and just as nice and personable in person as you see on TV.

Very nice I am a fan of you and Wayne great to see all the pictures
Loving autogeekonline more and more as the years go by..

This thread is absolutely great. Never thought of a shop with this many variety of classics, and looks that every time something incredible will happen there.

Wayne is one of few things worth being genuine as seen on TV ahhaha

An awesome person.

Thanks for sharing,

this is historical.

Kind Regards.

Thanks for the follow-up pictures Marius. I Think Wayne said this Lincoln is 1 of 4 that are known to exist today.

It's amazing how gigantic these classics are compared to most of the passenger cars of today.

Nice work.

Yes i think thats correct or i think that there was only 5 built and only 3 that were in existence and this one makes 4 ...in any case its very rare and in this condition even rarer ...and yes its huge like over 26 ft. long .. NO JOKE ... felt like i was buffing a yacht. lol

Was that the one on the show Marius?

Was that the one on the show Marius?

Yes it is ..we changed a few things on it ..i believe when the episode aired the lincoln had a white top and the tires were white walls ..the ex owner was a stickler and was hesitant to let it go especially after Wayne told him he was going to change things on it ..it was quite funny to watch ... if you watch the episode again youll see Wayne moving REAL fast to get the Lincoln in the trailer and split ... It looked like the guy was about have second thoughts .. lol

I watched this episode and you're right, Wayne started telling the owner the changes he was going to make and you could tell the owner didn't like hearing Wayne's idea.

Happy to say Wayne's ideas were great as when I was there the word that describes the changes and the car is

Impressive.

:xyxthumbs:

It's kinda funny...to me anyway...to see all those amazing vehicles in such a humble space.

The Maserati Bora was the first supercar I dreamed about when I saw it in Road & Track magazine when I was a kid. That's the one I would pick.
