Hey all.

I recently worked on completely changing my website to look more professional and clean. I would like you guys to have a look and tell me what you think.

Also, I am now in the Orlando area, but am charging what I used to in S. FL. I still work on a lot (mostly) luxury cars, but I always feel like people up here seem to suffer sticker shock, even though I am detailing an $80,000 car.

Would you consider my prices too high for whats involved?

Thanks guys!!

Aggressive Detailing

It depends...is your work worth the price?

What kind of products do you use and how well do you use them?

Look at your hourly rate...how does it work out?

Site looks good. one thing that can spice it up is before and after pics in your media. other than that maybe a better color scheme to make it more attractive. it looks good for the most part though. as far as your prices, you can tell they are south FL prices for high end cars. not sure how that would work in orlando... maybe see what other popular detailers are charging and go from their. but if you want to keep your pricing the way it is, you might want to run monthly specials for certain services. you might steal some customers from other local detailers :p

I think it looks nice. I don't have time at the moment to look through everything, but one thing that caught my eye was in the "Why Aggressive?" section. It may not cause any heat or lost business, but the line that says "It doesn't matter if you have a Honda Civic or a Bentley......" If I owned a Honda Civic, or if you would have said Mazda 6 (what I drive) instead, I'd probably wonder what you meant. I'd personally state that as "Whether it's your daily driven economy car or your luxurious garage queen...."

Others may not agree, and I could be way off base because I know what YOU meant by it, but if I had a Civic, I'd probably think you were calling it cheap. lol

First off, thanks for taking the time to check out my info.

The idea about the "why aggressive" section is spot on. I'll change it tonight.

I feel I do excellent work, and have 15 years of experience to back it up.
I use a combo of menzerna, swissvax, pinnacle, sonax, wolfgang, 3M and DP.

It allworks out to about 35-40 per hour.

Yes, I need more before and after shots. I have them, but need to upload them to the server.

Thanks again guys.

What is the photo on your home page saying?

IMG_1332.jpg

1. I detail homes.

2. I detail palm trees.

3. I detail cars.

4. I detail driveways.

The car is in the shadows, the home is in direct sunlight.

THE CAR IS THE SUBJECT

Take a PHOTOGRAPH of your car ( not a detailer's picture).

Find a nice background that isn't much darker or lighter than your car. Wait until one hour before dusk. Frame the picture with the car as the main subject. Fill the frame with the car. Use a 50mm lens on a DSLR or equivalent. No W-I-D-E lenses.

Maybe on the more expensive packages just do a "contact for quote" to avoid the sticker shock and also you can explain to them your pricing over the phone or email.

When looking at the pages where you list your services,I think that the price per hour is too low, or that your not actually spending that much time on the car becasue if you are I can't see you are covering costs of product, fuel, equipment, disposables and leaving yourself enouh profit after taxes.

Too many people think PROFIT is a dirty word. It's not. I see you produce some outstanding results and you should be compensated for them.

Aggressive detailing as a name might make a guy with a 911 think your going to polish off all his clear? I am new at this but all I have read is to start with the least aggressive method?

Lastly, the same page where you list the packages, at the bottom the last few lines run into your e-mail address.

I truly hope that you take this a constructive becasue I just re read the post and my intention was to help you, not upset you.

Have a good day!

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Its amazing to get feedback about some things you were never even thinking of!

I had a friend of mine (Who actually owns a 911) say the same thing about the name of my business, but its been a name I have used for many years, so its too late to change now :D I think the work speaks for itself, and when I originally chose it, I meant it in a way about how critical and the amount of steps I go to achieve the perfect gloss. Its not abnormal for me to break out the 3000 grit wet sanding discs and go to town on orange peel/RIDS to make the paint gleam. There for, its a more aggressive approach then others ;)

I feel the prices work out well. ITs equal to about $40 an hour, and with my current client base, I really cant see charging much more. Hell, some of them already look for discounts once in a while.

Thanks for the tip about the pic. I never thought about that. I just thought it was a really nice looking picture. After the next polish I do, Ill take a nice FF pic and swap them out.

Thanks again everyone!

I think the site is easily viewed/navigated and doesn't leave anything to question as to what the customer is going to get for the money they're spending.

As far as the home page pic goes ....... I get the idea you were going for. Personally, I would catch that bright yellow paint job under a sunny day and try to capture some type of reflection that makes the potential customer feel good about having you work on their ride.

I did something like that with my home page ...... take a look & it might give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

When I go to the services page the font goes teeny weenie. I have to get right up on the screen to read it. LCD 1680x1050 21" widescreen.

Thats odd..... I have viewed it on many a computer and never have I witnessed that. Ill look into it.

Thanks again all!

When I check the site, the home page is wider than my monitor. I would change the width if possible. I'd also have the "Why Aggressive" page re-written. I know you're going for the casual approach but could use some professional touches here and there (no pun intended). A few punctuation errors like "families" and "friends" (should be: family's & friends').

Its showing like that because of the display resolution you have set. I view it on IE as well as Firefox & the parameters are within the frame @ 1440x900 resolution.

Hey, nice work.

I am not a pro detailer and never plan to be. I like doing mine and some others from friends, family, etc.

What I notice right away is, how can I pay for it? Do you accept cards, cash only, etc.

Pics are what sells me big time. You have a great pic viewer when you enlarge, I like that, it's easy. But, I think before and afters, 50/50's are what sells me. I like the look of your finished product but I have no idea where they came from, what you can accomplish, are you worth it to me type of pics.

Also, I skipped right over your phone number on the bottom thinking it was some kind of copyright notice or whatever. I don't want to hunt around for a way to get in touch with you. I want that easy, not overbearing but easier than it is now.

That's all, I think it's looking good, just a non pro perspective.
