A friend called me and said that she has some stains on her plastic by her dashboard. It's the small plastic piece by the radio on her 2008 Toyota Solara. She said that she was using a yankee candle air freshener and some of this mist must have landed on this piece. She then proceeded to tell me that she used Fantastic, Windex, and Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer (The last part at least calmed me down a little). The stain still hasn't budged. I was going to hit it with the DP Total Interior Cleaner and agitate with a small brush. Then apply some 303 as a protectant. Does anyone know if this course of action will work, or has anyone had a similar situation that they can give some advice on. It would be most appreciated.

Thank you,

Ken

you'll probably get more responses if you include a pic but I've used a little plastX on my radio plastic and the vanity lights with good success...

I was thinking plastX to go a little more aggressive if the cleaner doesn't work....thanks! I don't have pics yet, but as soon as I get a hold of my friends car I will try to snap a pic.

Trim around radios in the center console is sometimes painted plastic. At least in my 07 and 08 Dodge vehicles it is. Also the trim on the doors that contain the door lock/window control switchs is often painted. My wifes Avenger had several bad drip stains in the door pull cavity from when a previous hack used to strong of cleaner and fogot to wipe it all out. Hopefully a polish will take out the drip marks but if it is too deep you'll likely go through the paint trying to chase the stain. The trim can be removed and repainted if this occurs. Ask me how I know.
